Hope hadn't been in the village two minutes when she felt eyes on her, which was natural considering her unique parentage and new tribrid status. though, this stare felt... different. it wasn't one of fear, which made her heart skip a beat.

and in that moment, hope turned her head ever so slightly and saw her. april looked like april. there was no other way to put it, she just looked perfect and right. hope felt tears well in her eyes, and so she let out a breath and wiped them away, feigning it as tiredness so that lizzie wouldn't notice - not that she did, the blonde was too busy rambling about god knows what.

"hope?" lizzie sang, dragging out the 'o'.

the brunettes head turned to face the blonde, and she nodded, "yeah?"

"i was just saying we should get our bearings before we decide to go and babysit the wayward twins," lizzie said matter-of-factly, a twinge of sarcasm dripping through her words.

"maybe," hope replied, blue eyes betraying her and glancing back to the bridge.

whoever that boy who stood next to april was probably a lover, but it was as though hope could tell otherwise, and so she used her super hearing to listen in.

april's voice wasn't as expected, it was slightly soft but held a rough quality paired with a harsh northern accent, "that's the girl, y'know the one ella swore she didn't get rid of,"

hope wasn't looking at them anymore, and so all she heard was silence when it was likely there was a nod or an action inbetween. the boy then spoke up, "i still don't get why she did that, but i know that you're right,"

silence.

and more silence.

until lizzie spoke again, "where to now?"

"it doesn't matter," hope replied, "just anywhere away from here,"

and it was as though lizzie just knew in that moment what was going through hope's head. so, the blonde took the shorter brunettes hand and led her elsewhere in the small village.

Around six in the evening, april returned home after a long chat with dillon about her very gay feelings for hope and all the betrayal that had occurred

Around six in the evening, april returned home after a long chat with dillon about her very gay feelings for hope and all the betrayal that had occurred. she was glad someone was on her side, even charlie - her own brother - was taking ella's side. she was just that convincing.

and so, april expected this evening to go the same as the rest. where her family chastised her for her actions, sort of. her dad played along, but he knew that ella was in the wrong and showed her that... when no one else was around. it was harsh, but april knew he wanted to keep the peace and so she let it slide.

upon walking in the front door, she could tell something was off. there was no smell of dinner cooking, nor the sound of her siblings arguing.

she turned on the light, and then saw a figure emerge in her living room, "hey, bitch,"

"how the fuck did you get in?" april asked lizzie, to which the blonde shrugged.

"i would lie... but i think we both know there's a reason the windows open," lizzie then looked to the window that was dragging in a breeze.

april gave lizzie a look, but when the blonde didn't take the hint to close it april ended up doing so herself.

"so, uhm, why are you committing crimes just to see me?" april asked kindly, walking through to the kitchen with lizzie hot on her heels.

"because, a certain brunette was all depressed over you," lizzie replied, which caused april to stop in her tracks and turn around.

"hope, hopefully,"

lizzie nodded in confirmation, "yeah, she saw you and got all depresso-expresso so i took her to the park and bought her a shot of expresso then she was fine,"

april chuckled at her description, and then pulled her phone from her pocket and checked the time.

"where is everyone?" april asked lizzie, then shook her head after realising she wouldn't know, "Nevermind,"

"in the park earlier, i saw your brother talking with ella. she said something about them going over hers for tea - whatever that posh shit is - but not bringing or telling you cause... drama,"

april nodded, it made sense they wouldn't tell her. after all, she was viewed as some sort of loose-canon. and god forbid, a teenage girl having emotions. "tea is dinner, and i get what they mean. it would've helped if you didn't break in so i didn't expect you to be a serial killer,"

lizzie snorted with laughter, "i have too many emotional problems. id cry after murdering someone,"

"true," april replied, noticing how natural it was to talk to lizzie. in a way, she knew it would've been easier to fall for her... and maybe in another universe she'd be into that. in this one, however, they'd stick to chaotic best friends.
