Part 17 Marry me?

We arrived back in London 3 days ago and tonight is the night I ask. Leah has already been told it's date night tonight and she said she's going to dress nice. I've been talking to Viv and am also getting Beth's help to set it all up. It's going to be in two half's dinner and then the proposal. I'm so excited. She wants to go have lunch with Wally and will be back at 4 as dinner starts at 6. She just left and it's 10. I know they need a much needed catch up session. Caitlin knows she has to get Leah out the door at 5 at the latest so she's on time. Wally and Leah have no clue what's going to happen. As soon as she left I jumped in my car and drove off the Beth and vivs. Tonight is Londons clearest night in the past 50 years. The stars will be so bright. I won't take Leah to the exact same spot I found a nice spot on a hill looking at the stars and country side.

The car ride to the meadamas wasn't that long but I'm buzzing with excitement. I knock on the door and it swings open. Viv stands there and hugs me. "Woah! Hey viv" I can hear beth from behind her "what she gets a hug before me today" viv turns around "Beth shush she is proposing today" I chuckle "thank you both for your help again." They smile "it's your big day tonight" I rub the back of my neck "I'm so nervous, I'm so ready to take this step with her. Marriage is such a sacred promise and I'm ready to make that sacred promise with her." They both smile at me and I chuckle "amanda has been helping me organise things I've been running ideas past her. Thanks for letting me leave the ingredients for dinner here tonight" Beth smiles "it's alright can I ask what's your favourite thing about Leah?" I smile "everything she's so fucking perfect I'm so in love with her" Beth chuckles "that's the best answer" she jokingly turned to viv "vivi what's your favourite thing about me?" Viv chuckles "not your sense of humour" I have to hold my self from laughing seeing the offended look wash over Beth's face. Beth rolls her eyes "so we are setting the telescope,blankets, pillows and speaker up at ——— point" I nod "yep and then I take her to a spot that looks like a lookout near the edge so the stars are in the background.I will set up a little camera when she doesn't realise then take her I would like to have the photos" they nod "that sounds like Leah's dream date not going to lie why do you need the speaker though?" I smile "Leah and I have both always wanted to slow dance under the stars where seemingly away from the world" I tear up a bit "I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with her" viv looks at me "does her mum know it's today?" I nod "yeah amanda has warned her family not to contact us today it has to be us contacting. She didn't have to but she was very insistent" I chuckle "speaking of which I told her I would keep her updated through out the preparations do you want to say hi?" They both nod enthusiastically I joke "wow you seem almost more excited to see amanda then me proposing" we all laugh as I call amanda. The phone rings once before being picked up

"Alex!" I chuckle it sounds like she's been waiting for the call. "Hey amanda, I'm here with Beth and viv they are helping me set up tonight." I can basically hear her smiling through the phone "that's brilliant hey girls. Wait is Leah not with you?" I chuckle "I planned it so she would be with Wally most the day and come home for date night. Beth and viv will go to our spot once I message them that Leah is home and I will message them when we are leaving" she sounds so excited "Fantastic. Alex I'm so glad it's you who is asking my daughter to marry her. Did you know I had Jordan ask me when they where together but I said no" this shocked me "no I didn't know. How did you know she would be so nasty and that Leah would get with me?" She chuckles "mothers know best and this was before Jordan was so nasty. I could just tell she was not for Leah. You are. I mean when I asked Jordan what her favourite thing about Leah was guess what she said?" I shrug "everything because Leah is perfect?" Amanda laughs "I wish she said her ass. Your answer was better then the one I thought of I though heart and eyes. If you had to choose one physical thing about Leah that was your favourite what would it be?" I shrug "I would still Love her is she was wheelchair bound and blind I hope you know that right? If I HAD to choose it would be her eyes. If you can't fall for the heart fall for the eyes because as you age perfect hair gets short and goes white. Skin wrinkles, you shrink and loose teeth. Your hearing goes. There is one thing that doesn't change and that's the eyes. I will love Leah at any and every stage of our life together and I'm excited for our next years together" I hear a sniffle over the phone. "That was beautiful, I'm so glad she found you and I'm so excited for you to officially be apart of the family. To get that answer from others they would need to think about it but you say it without hesitation" I chuckle "amanda I love you daughter more than anything. I will fight bulls, magpies sharks anything for her. As long as she's safe And happy I'm happy" I here people In the background of the phone calling sniffling "amanda is someone with you?" She laughs "yeah Jacob, David and a few other family members are over for family lunch. You have us all crying. We can't thank you enough for being who you are with Leah" I chuckle "I told you guys I love her I really do. I try to go out of my way to treat her like a queen. I just want her to be happy. I love her so much. If you talked to me when I moved to Everton and said you live someone as much as I love Leah I could be calling bullshit but now I'm with her I can't possibly imagine being with out her. When I'm with her I'm complete you know?" I hear hums in agreement and I hear someone joke "I wish I could find a Alex" I laugh "sorry I'm all Leah's and I don't feel like leaving her" I look at Beth and viv who are whipping tears "you 2 alright?" They both just nod "yeah your love for Leah is beautiful" I chuckle "I hope so you think she will say yes?" They both alongside the people on the phone all yell "yes!" I chuckle "alright alright I've got to go set up go home and make the first half of the date so I should go?" Amanda asks "wait how many parts are there?" I think "2 well technically 3 so there is the candle light home made dinner then the star dazing then proposal" I hear her basically been with excitement "that's amazing dear you don't have to tell us tonight but we all know she's going to say yes" I chuckle "thanks amanda I really do have to go, I need to make sure the telescope is good enough" she chuckles "telescope? Haha have fun just say everything from the heart and you will be ok. See ya" "bye!" I hang up. Viv and Beth are hugging viv from behind and basically towers over beth. I take a breath "you girls ready for a hectic day?" They both nod.
