I met my Mom outside in the yard as she hopped out of her car.
"Hey, Ma you need help with anything?" I asked, opening her door for her.
"No baby, thank you. Your such a sweetheart." She said, palming my face as she walked inside the house. I followed shortly behind her.
"You were here all day?" She asked, taking off her coat and shoes.
"Yes ma'am." I called out from the hall, still closing and locking the front door.
"I thought you and Maia were going out tonight?"
"Yeah, there is no more Maia Ma."
I saw my mother's eyes widen.
"Wait, why not? What happened between the two of you knuckleheads now?"
I took a deep sigh.
"She called herself apologizing to me."
My mama gave me a look I knew all too well. She was boutta flip this shit on my black ass.
"Michael... did you give the girl a chance?"
"Yes, I did."
"A real chance?"
"Yes, Ma. A real chance. She's lucky I even gave her that for that half ass apology. Excuse my language."
"I understand. Having friends is hard to maintain, no matter how old you are. I wouldn't stress it too much Son." My mom said, kissing me on the cheek and heading up the stairs to I assume would be to watch her five o'clock stories. She definitely had a good point. But, I don't wanna keep goin' through that same pain every other week. My heart is a vessel I take precious care of, I guess that's why I care so much 'cause the love my heart gives is unlimited. Unfortunately, the limit stops here.
