Chapter 14: Please

Chapter 14

Katniss P.O.V.

"I have to go", I say and stand up.

I walk a few steps and feel him grab my arm.

"Nah-ah!" Peeta says and spins me around, making me crash into him. "You have to stay".

"Oh I do, do I?" I ask cocky.

"Yes, yes you do", Peeta says.

"But what if I do have to go?" I ask.

"You don't, I know you don't, because I happen to know that you were going to sleep over at Annie's tonight, which means your parents doesn't expect you", Peeta says.

"So you're stalking me?" I ask slyly.

"No, but my best friend happen to be your brother and his girlfriend happens to be your best friend", he says. "Let's just say that I have connections".

This makes me laugh. Peeta sounded so important and like he knows everything.

"Well I do have to go home and pick up my things", I say. "You didn't think of everything now did you?" I smile winningly.

"Damn", Peeta says and I just laugh.

I haven't laughed like this with Peeta for a long long time and it feels just great. So great.

"Hah!" I say winningly.

"Well I'll come with you", he says.

"Hmm..." I say. "Okay, if you can catch me".

And with that I take off running. I can hear Peeta laugh behind me as he sets off after me. Peeta is fast. But I'm fast too. Maybe I'm faster to him.

I round a corner and start running towards my house.

Just when I think that he won't be able to catch me, I feel fingers on my elbow, and then a hand around my arm, pulling me backwards. I crash into Peeta, laughing.

"I've missed you", I tell him. "So much".

"I've missed you too", he says. "I'm never leaving again".

"Good", I say, looking up at him.

He looks down at me with a smirk and leans down to kiss my lips. I kiss him back and lean into the kiss.

When I pull away I take his hand and we start walking to my house.

"Oh, and Prim is going to inform you of the fact that my mother is pregnant, so be prepared", I say.

"She is?" Peeta asks.

"Yah".

"How are you feeling about that?" He asks.

"I feel like not talking about it", I say.

"Okay", he says and kisses my temple.

We reach my house and I open the door.

"PEETA!" Prim screams and rushes forward and crashes into him, hugging him. "I'm sorry for being angry at you at the hospital! It's been so long since you've been here! I've missed you! How are you?"

"Prim slow down", I giggle and walk up the stairs.

I know Peeta will come after me once he's answered Prim's questions and said hello to my parents. He knows where my room is.

When I come into my room, I take up my bag and start packing it with stuff, including The shining. I don't know if I'm going to be able to read but if I do, I want it with me.
