Growing up

My earliest memories
At the age of five,
In the back yard
Was a giant beehive.
Everyone was happy
Everything was good
Every tiny thing was appreciated
In this neighborhood.

Age of six
What a wonderful time
At the age of six
I could barely rhyme.
At the age of six
I played with dolls.
In every situation
I had a ball.

Age of seven
No change much,
But at the age of seven
I remember such
A dog I had gotten.
His name was Lucky,
I stepped in his poop
And it was really yucky.

Age of 8
We moved house
It was much smaller
But I was quiet as a mouse.
At the age of eight
I loved to play shopkins
My imagination went wild
And the stories would never end.

Age of 9
I had my first mean kid
I don't know why it hurt me
He was really stupid.
But 9 year old me
In this new home
It was very hurtful
Which I don't condone

Age of 10
We moved once more
I hit double digits
And bolted out the door.
I went to middle school
I always got lost
I was a goody two shoes
But what was the cost

Age of 11
I started reading for fun
At age 11
Friends? I had one
I got my first boyfriend
Looking back I Ick
But he seemed so sweet
But was actually toxic

Age of 12
There was a rumor
Started by a girl
With a brain tumor.
She said I had
A list of who to kill
Then covid hit
Yet friends I lost still

Age of 13
The year was in two
I was top of the middle school
But friends I had two
My boyfriend broke up
With me, yet I didn't cry
I was gonna do it to him
Cuz our relationship was dry.

Age of 14
I saw the first signs
That I was not normal
I was one of a kind.
I jumped out of a closet
Not metaphorically,
I should have known then
Who I was meant to be

Age of 15
My 2nd year of high school
At the age of 15
I wanted to be cool.
I got a girlfriend
Realizing I was gay
That only lasted a few months
But it paved my way

Age of 16
Is where I'm at now
I have quite a few friends
And another girlfriend somehow.
She's the love of my life
It's almost been a year,
But I realize time flied by
And adulthood I am near.
