Chapter 17
SpecialIt wasn't a long ride until we finally reached the destination. The place that Hyunjin and his friends hang out often.
At first, I don't want to believe that we're here because the place looked old and abandoned at the first glance from outside. I was a bit hesitant but I was able to cover it up with my curious expression.
“Stay close to me.” Hyunjin held my hand and pull me closer to him.
There are many cars and motorcycles parked around the seemingly quiet area. We then started walking around the vandalized buildings before we reach an old stairs leading down to what seems like an underground hide out or something.
I don't know but places like these are commonly found in movies or fictional books but having to see it in real life almost excites me!
“Dude! Long time no see!” A guy beside the stairs approached us and fist bumped with Hyunjin. “Heard you were finally getting record deal offers. Congratulations!” The guy added, enthusiastically.
“Thanks. We're here to watch a game.” Hyunjin said.
“Who is she? Oh, hi! I'm Brian. A friend of Hyunjin.” The guy noticed me and didn't hesitate to introduce himself. He offers a hand and I accepted it.
“Hi. I'm (Y/N).” I smiled.
“Nice to meet you, (Y/N). I hope you guys enjoy the game. I'm outta here. I have something to do. Bye!” After that, he lit a cigarette and left.
Hyunjin pulled me along with him as we walk down the stairs. From here, I'm starting to hear the loud cheers and screams from a crowd somewhere inside. I looked at Hyunjin in confusion and he seem to get it immediately.
“It's not illegal I promise!” He chuckled and I scrunch my nose. “It's just a pool game and people are dramatic because they have their bets that's why it's loud.”
“I wasn't thinking of something illegal, okay? I was just curious.” I mumbled while he continued chuckling just to tease me.
“Fine, my curious girl.” He whispered.
The moment we entered the place, I realized it's a mini arena with a large space in the middle of it where the pool game is happening. There were many people, some are even teenagers with their friends casually hanging out. I also noticed that the lights are low and the brightest are only at the middle where the game is commencing.
As seconds go by, I'm starting to feel amazed. I've never been to a place like this before. It's a new experience for me.
“Over here!”
Hyunjin and I went to his group of friends and I immediately knew their names. They were very friendly and especially loud. They bet on the game on which side is going to win and everytime their choice gets a chance to cue, they scream and cheer just like how fans cheer on a football game.
“How do you bet on that game?” I curiously asked Hyunjin when I noticed that some people are exchanging money while cheering for their bet.
“You can bet with anyone around here.” He simply said.
I nodded my head and then an idea went inside my mind. I tugged his shirt and he looked down.
“Let's bet.” I smirked.
“I was skeptic that you'd enjoy being here and now you wanna bet, huh?” Hyunjin whined amusingly.
I slapped his arm which made him groan. “What do you mean I won't enjoy? It's actually fun! Come on, let's play but not with money.”
