Snow

"Excuse me?" (Name) laughed and ran away.

"Did you just throw a snowball at me? Oi, come back here!" Fossa shook his head to get the cold snow out of his hair and ran after her. His exuberant laughter echoed through the forest as he tried to escape Fossa, making a dive behind Jozu's legs.

Fossa gathered the snow and threw it lightly, so as not to hurt (Name). His aim was perfect and there was nothing-

The snowball hit Jozu's side.

(Name) covered her mouth in an attempt to mask her laughter. Jozu slowly looked to the snow-covered side, looked at it for a few seconds, then raised his eyes to stare blankly at Fossa.

The man was terrified, rooted to the spot, with no intention of making sudden movements. That was it. This would be (Name's) first bloodbath, the girl was going to witness him die and her parents were going to outright kill them when they found out.

Jozu raised his arm and reached out to Fossa. But his hand missed completely, instead hitting the tree right behind Fossa.

Everything was still...until a mountain of snow fell from the branches and collapsed on top of the katana user, practically burying him. (Name) couldn't contain himself and burst into laughter, holding his sides and trying to avoid falling to the ground. Fossa's horrified expression turned into a scandalized expression as he stood there with his head sticking out of the snow.

"Idiot." Jozu commented languidly. (Name) continued laughing.

"Double team? Oho! This is war."

After the day was over the score was impressive at 53 to 17 with Fossa being the obvious loser. As usual with competitions within Whitebeard's household, Fossa succumbed to whatever stratagem Jozu and (Name) had in store for him. He couldn't see it approaching well. But for now, the three had settled into the home of the house. The fire was hot against their skin and they were bundled up without sweaters and blankets to help keep warm. (Name) was snuggled in Fossa's lap and fell asleep a while ago.

Jozu, for once, didn't focus on money or information. Instead, he was sitting next to Fossa and was looking at the fire. He glanced at his partner who had his arms wrapped securely around the little girl's small form.

"I thought training was the only thing you cared about." Startled, Fossa's head jerked to the side. He smiled.

"And I thought you weren't capable of starting a conversation that wasn't about information, idiot." Jozu rolled his eyes. Fossa's smile quickly disappeared as he looked at the sleeping girl.

"I never said training was the only thing I cared about, I just...didn't find anything more important."

"Until now."

"Oh, how can you talk, motherfucker." Jozu scoffed,

"What about you, huh? You just got into a snowball fight with a girl and me. The bastard I worked with for years would never have done anything like that." Jozu was silent for a few moments, mulling over the idea in his head.

"...Possibly." he agrees. Fossa choked on his spit before looking at Jozu with a look more horrified than when he hit him with a snowball. Did Jozu really agree with him? Just like that?

"My Kami, you are going crazy."

"Shut up." (Name) shifted a little before settling back down. Fossa sighed.

"She really has us wrapped around her fingers, huh?"

"Be still before I crush your head and leave you to rot."

"There's the rude piece of shit I know!"
