"Is this your first time seeing one?"
"Yes...it's so...beautiful..." (Name) looked up at the sky and the seven stripes of colors that were hanging from it. It had just rained after a week in a row, and the morning was rewarded with an absolutely magnificent rainbow. She climbed onto the roof early in the morning before anyone else woke up and looked at the rainbow until an hour later when Marco had joined her.
"Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?" she asked with eyes full of wonder. Marco looked away, keeping it glued to the rainbow above him.
"Once." (Name) frowned.
"Once?" she repeated questioningly. Marco shook his head as if trying to dismiss his previous words.
"Never mind. It's not important." His eyes were sad again. They were covered up, seemingly as regretful as when they last watched the sunrise with Oden. (Name) wisely left everything alone and turned her attention to the rainbow above.
The morning sun was warm against her skin and shone brightly in the sky. Birds chirped faintly in the distance and a breeze rippled through the deep green trees. A sudden notion bubbled up in Marco's subconscious as he looked at (Name).
"What are your thoughts on being a pirate?" he asked.
"...be a pirate?" (Name) repeated. She heard the word spoken many times at home and assumed they could only be eternal or explosive.
"Hai...pirate, More specifically, what do you think it's like to be a real pirate?" He didn't expect her to have a real answer. She was too young to have seen anything of real value.
Interestingly, he saw her shoulders slump a little, but her smile was still plastered on her face.
"It would be something you will always remember being. Maybe it's a story, a memory or something. Being a pirate can require a lot of things, like things that happen in a moment but can last forever!" Marco tilted his head.
"Like what?"
''Well...I think being a pirate is when people have goals to be like one. But everyone can be a pirate in their own way! Because that's what makes pirates different from each other, because there can be good and bad pirates, depending on what they want to have." That was certainly an...interesting way of looking at things. He accepted the answer with a slight nod Of Head.
"I see. What if nothing turns out to be worthwhile as a goal?" She smiled widely at him.
"Then you have to be patient. But I know how long you can wait, Marco-san!" He smiled and patted her head.
"You're learning well." They returned to a comfortable silence, (Name)'s words reflected in his head and considered them for a long while, He signed.
''You would love (Name) so much, Ninna...''
