Chapter 26 : Banquet

Someone banged hard on the door , Kython groaned irked by the noise and readjusted himself on his King size bed

Bang bang bang

Kython forced himself out of bed and stormed  to the door and yanked it so hard he was surprised it didn't break

"Do you have a death wish ? " He growled

A petrified Mannesah stood at the doorway staring at Kython with fear in her eyes

"N-no "

Kython glared at her contemplating whether or whether not to rip her throat out but decided to murder the gaurd who let her in instead

"Leave " he ordered attempting to close the door

"W-wait " Mannesah barged in " the banquet is starting in a few hours , shouldn't you be getting ready ? "

"And shouldn't you be asleep at such an ungodly hour ? "

"It's past ten "

"Your point is ? " Kython slurred

He glanced once more at Mannesah and took in what she wore , she had on a sky blue tight fitting silk dress with thin straps that hugged her frame like a second skin with a mid thigh slit and silver laced up heels , her hair was tied in a low bun with a few loose strands  .

"Oh come one it's gonna be fun , plus I'm already ready " Mannesah prodded with a little spin

"I can see that , what exactly does that have to do with me ? "

"N-nothing...but I mean...I thought...never mind , just get ready " she murmured and strutted towards his walk in closet

Kython leaned against a post, wondering when they became close enough that she could go through his closet

She eventually came out with baby blue suit which he noticed matched perfectly with her dress , which may have been why she picked it

"How about this ? I've never seen you in it " she questioned

"Get out Mannesah , I don't want you here and I definitely don't want to go to that banquet , all I wanna do is sleep " Kython said sternly

Mannesah scoffed "I'm not leaving untill you agree to get out of your slump and go to this banquet , I'll drag you there kicking and screaming if I have to , and you know I will "

Kython let out a frustrated sigh "fine , just leave"

Mannesah grinned slyly as she strutted out his room "I'll be downstairs "

Hours later Kython strided down the black marble stone stairs , gripping the golden railing as he went . The baby blue suit hugged his bulky muscular frame , accentuating his biceps , his hair was down and styled messily and his leather loafers bejewelled with diamonds glistined under the light , he finished of his look with his snake earring and rings
Mannesah's eyes met him and stared adoringly at him as if Hypnotized by his alluring aura , she slowly stood up and took in his features, to mesmerized to speak

"Mannesah...? " Kython called

"Huh ? "

"You're drooling "

"Oh uhm..." Mannesah wiped her chin in embarrassment "l-lets go , Asher must be waiting"

They ambled through the main court yard that lead to the ballroom , getting a few stairs from the servants. The sky was stained with grey clouds , light only shown through a few clear patches

Asher whistled when he saw them "you both clean up nice "

"Thanks , you don't look to bad either " Mannesah blushed

Asher wore a gold coloured suit with a cream brown coat and his hair gelled back

"I didn't know you too were coming together " he said nudging Kython's ribs with a wink

"I convinced him to- "

"That's because we're not " Kython stated bluntly giving Asher a warning glare

They walked through the open twelve foot doors which led them into a empty hallway , they turned right nearing the ballroom , a grey haired man who Kython recognised as Tyrens secretary bowed at them before scurrying quickly into the ball room

"Ladies and gentlemen , I announce to you Kython , Tyrens second in command , Sir Asher , one of the head knights and lady Mannesah , the royal sorcerer" The man proclaimed

The guests errupted into cheers as the three stood at the top of the winder staircase , they all bowed in respect

"I could get used to this " Asher said with a smirk as they gingerly went down the stairs

Kython and Mannesah chuckled lightly , the banquet was filled with a few royals from different Kingdoms and random strangers , the ballroom was beautifully decorated with purple and velvet ribbons and fake flowers entangled with them , the walls were lined with tables of appetizers and refreshments and classical musicians performed on the stage

"Let's go dance " Mannesah said with excitement

"You can dance , my bud and I are gonna go finish the appetizers" Asher answered draping an arm over Kython's shoulder as they both ran to the appetizers like little kids
