Chapter 25 : Farewell Friend

Auria forced her eye's open and reluctantly sat up , she got up and lazily stomped downstairs

"Good morning" she greeted through a yawn

The kitchen and living room were empty , and seemed untouched since last night

"Lindsay ? Alyster ? " Auria called

"In Alysters room dear " Lindsay answered

Auria could hear worry in her voice , she rushed upstairs to Alysters room and saw Alyster squirming on the bed in pain and Lindsay dabbing his head with a wet cloth , which clearly was helping with nothing .

"What's going on ? " Auria asked at the door

"Aly has a fever " Lindsay answered anxiously "all though this doesn't look like any ordinary fever "

"How come ? " Auria ran to her sickly friend

"I don't know , he just woke up and could barely even walk "

Alyster let out a strained groan and clutched his side tighter , Auria knew what was happening. The spanic venom . If he didn't get those medications that Nathi gave him , he might die .

"Oh my g- my baby " Lindsay exclaimed "is it your stomach? Quick take of your shirt "

"No ! " Auria blurted out gesturing Lindsay to stop

Lindsay threw her a puzzled yet impatient look " why not ? "

"B-because that won't help " she whirled her eyes around the room trying to think of a good enough excuse "he needs medicine Lindsay , quick you need to go to the market while I stay here "

Lindsay nodded vigorously fumbling with her boots and scurrying out the room , Auria shut it behind her and ran back to Alyster

"W-where's the kit ? "

Alyster tapped the bed viciously as he let out another cry of pain , Auria knitted her brows with confusion before finally getting the unspoken message . She knelt down and dived under the bed retrieving the kit and opening it .
Blood stained tears ran down Alyster's cheeks as his breathing slowed , Auria filled a needle with the transparent liquid and lifted Alysters shirt and cringed seeing the lumps and how his abdomen locked , she injected the liquid and nothing happened , Alyster still struggled

"No , no , no , no , no " Auria's chest tightened in panic

She filled another needle and injected Alyster's side , he let out a long breath and dropped onto the bed...just lying there.

Auria let out a relieved sigh and an exhausted laugh " Oh my gosh , I thought you were going to die "

Alyster didn't answer , Auria looked over at him , his chest didn't rise and fall anymore or showed any indication of him breathing

"Alyster ? Alyster get up" Auria said with panic rising again in her chest

She shook him yet he remained limp , she checked his pulse and...nothing , he wasn't breathing . Tears flooded her eyes blurring her vision , she shook him again frantically yet he didn't wake up . Auria sniffed with her now stuffy nose and backed away stretching out her arm then gripped her necklace for comfort

" Please work...please wake up Alyster " she wheezed

Silver dust materialized and drifted around the room , a fence of clear crystals appeared around the bed causing a light glow in the little circle it formed .
Alyster's body levetated in the the air with a blinding light emitting from his face . Auria felt weaker by the second , the fence of crystals disappeared and Alyster landed delicately on the bed , silver dust still drifted around the room .
Auria felt dizzy but refused to let that stop her , she stumbled over to the bed where Alyster layed looking angelic, his scar was gone , Auria took his hand and let out a light strained gasp at how cold it was . His skin was paler. She just stared at him as the bitter reality settled .
A click sounded at the door and Lindsay walked in , her eyes landing on Alyster and smiled

"Awe...my Aly managed to get some sleep " she said with admiration in her eyes as she walked to the bed , staring at her son lovingly

"Auria dear , what is it ? " Lindsay asked with concern

Auria looked anywhere but at her , shame filled her to be in Lindsay's presence "Lindsay... I'm so sorry "

"What ? " Lindsay took another look at Alyster , horror was her expression

"Aly ? " She called with a foreign voice reaching out and cupping his face

Pain settled in her eyes as tears gushed out " Alyster wake up right now ! " She ordered fiercely slapping his face

A pained sob escaped her lips as she slowly sat on the bed " Alyster I am your mother, you can't die before me , please wake up Aly . I lost your dad , I can't loose you too , it wasn't suppose to be like this , I wasn't suppose to end up alone ."

Auria cried silently , whatever happiness she felt before vanished in a mere minutes. She lost the closest friend she's ever had , one who was determined to endure with her through out this stressful journey

"I was suppose to watch you grow old Aly , I was suppose to see your grandkids , don't do this to me Aly " Lindsay sobbed
