Consciousness slowly came back, she peeled open her eyes,  everything was blurry at first but cleared enough for her to realise she was staring at the ceiling.
The curtains were closed making her room dim and it was much warmer than she remembered. She pushed herself up with her elbow and leaned against the multitude of fluffed pillows that she swore weren't there before , piled onto her were thick blankets and comforters , she glanced down at the sheets to see a large sweat stain and her clothes overly damped , her hair was also plastered to her sweat stained forehead .

She rested against the pillows and allowed her mind to wonder , her mind awakened more and collected the events of the night before. Everything came back at a slow rate , the vision , necklace , cold . That explained why she had so much blankets , Kython and Alyster must have noticed her temperature .
Her subconscious replayed the vision in her head , a heaviness sat in her chest , a feeling of dread that made her want to go back to bed consumed her . She dwelled more on the discovery she found and unraveled the situation at hand , everything started to make sense the more she thought about it . No wonder her mother knew so much about Tyrens , she recalled Alyster telling her the first day they met that Tyrens and her mother had history . She hadn't thought about it much or even considered asking her mother , but such an assumption would have never crossed her mind . Her mother didn't hate Tyrens only because of what he did to her daughter and kingdom but because of what he did to her mother , brother and herself. She remembered one of the letters her mother wrote to her in that journal , she had said how Tyrens was once a loving husband and father untill he just... Changed .

Beneath the shock and subtle pity she felt , there was anger . Even with all that , why didn't her mother think it's best to tell her such a huge thing . Did she not deserve to know her grandfather didn't care about her and wanted to use her powers for his own benefit ? She didn't even know she had a grandfather ! She wondered what else was hidden from her, first it was her being a royal now her grandfather is a Tyrant murderer. It was too much .

Her door clicked open, Alyster cocked his head in through the small gap , relief drenched him seeing her awake . He pushed the door further and revealed a tray in his hands , he entered and placed it on her bed . It had a plate of egg sandwiches , a bowl of berries and diced fruit and a mug of hot chocolate

" How are you feeling ? " He asked scanning her for any traces of pain or distress

"Better... I guess " she answered getting out of the blankets, a chill shot through her causing her to return to the warmth of the blankets

Alyster nodded and inspected her with an unreadable face, he clearly had questions but she wasn't ready to answer them yet . She pulled the tray onto her laps and took a sip of her hot chocolate and started on her sandwich that was delicious as Alyster watched her in a comfortable silence. He scoffed, she glanced up at him

"So we're just not gonna talk about this ? " He asked with a raised brow

Auria dodged his eyes and swallowed, she knew what he meant but she didn't want to talk about it, she didn't know how he'd react and a part of her didn't want to find out .

"What's there to talk about ? " She asked taking a strawberry

"Alot actually, why were you screaming last night and holding your head like you were having a migraine ? And why were you so cold ? I just want to know what happened to you . "

She could feel his intense gaze piercing through her, non-wavering and firm . She attempted to meet it but turned back to her meal and quietly sipped her drink

"Auria ? " He called firmly

"Hm ? "

"I asked you a question "
