Chapter 13 : The Attack

Auria and Alyster walked slowly back to the wagon as the horses nayed gladly

"That was..." Alyster started but stopped, to fazed to talk

They got on the wagon and continued on the trail in a heavy silence.

"What do you think she meant by we have powers within us ? " Auria asked in a shaky tone

Alyster shrugged gazing intensely at the view before him
"Do you think she was serious about my father coming back ? " He asked in a weak voice

"Of course I do , he will come back Alyster " Auria said proudly with no ounce of doubt in her "I don't know what power Nathi has , but they're strong, it's like I can sense it you know " she said and relaxed into the prickly wooden seat and turned to Alyster

"Alyster ?... what's wrong ? " Alyster held the reins so tight his knuckles turned white , he glanced around attentively with a serious expression

"Aly-"

"Shhh listen "

Auria gave him a confused look before paying attention to her senses, she heard light nays of horses, hard flaps of wings and metal clanging against metal

"Do you hear it ? " Alyster asked

"I hear something "

The sounds grew louder , as if an entire army was surrounding them , Auria felt a cold hand on her shoulder
"Auria...look up "

Auria looked up and her skin went pale , flying above them was indeed an entire army , Auria recognised the polished pure black armour and mutant black horses. Grackula. They looked like a thunder cloud about pour

"Alyster...we have to find shelter . Now " Auria instructed feeling nauseous at the sight

Alyster nodded and scanned their surroundings pulling the reins prodding the horses to go faster , they sped to a large tree , it's vines and thick leaves draped over it providing a natural curtain which they hid under

"What army is that ? " Alyster asked jumping of the cart

" It's the Grackulian army " Auria stated also jumping of

" Again !? I thought the kingdom put back the barrier " Alyster asked with a startled look

"They must have used the same tactics as fourteen years ago " Auria said firmly stepping out of the curtain of leaves and vines "looks like they're heading for the village "

"The village ? They can't go there , my mom's there " Alyster said in panic

That same panic fell over Auria , her necklace glowed brightly filling her body with warmth

"And your necklace ?" Alyster asked looking at it like it were the most disturbing thing to have existed

Strong transparent waves radiated from it , heading straight towards the Grackulians

"Is it bringing them here ? " Alyster asked loudly

" No..."

They noticed the Grackulian's horses shook with discomfort, probably because of the waves , they noticed the Knights turn their horses and headed straight towards them

"...okay maybe it is " Auria said as fear and anxiety travelled up her spine giving her chills

The army sped towards them lead by one person Auria hated almost as much as Tyrens. Kython. A steel ball was launched from somewhere in the herd of blackness , mid-air it turned into a net , missing Auria by an inch

"Really ? Even after fourteen years they're still after you ? " Alyster stressed , more annoyed than afraid

" Apparently"

More steel balls dropped from the army along with Kython with with a dozen other Knights, highly armed with weapons. Instinctively Auria held up her hands and a swift wave of fire appeared melting the steel ball to puddles , Alyster mouth dropped as he stared at Auria in astonishment
Auria's eye's flarred a dangerous shade of orange as they met Kython's pair , she lunged forward and a sudden wind blew the army above with great strength, balls of fire materialised behind her automatically darting to the army on land dust and loud screams erupted as fire met flesh .
Alyster stood aimlessly behind Auria , feeling vulnerable, he noticed a figure at the corner of his eyes looming towards Auria , he shoved her out the way and was met by a sharp pain at the side of his stomach, replaced by an uprising heat as if burning off his flesh . He groaned loudly in pain and felt his head spin and his vision became blurry , he looked up at the figure who just jabbed him in the stomach and saw a familiar face , blurry but familiar , the familiar structure and familiar silky black haired fellow looked down at him with a proud grin that fell at once to that of shock and dread .
Alyster fell to the ground screaming in agony as hot blood oozed from his side , swelling into lumps and turning a rotten shade of green and purple

"Alyster ! " Called a feint voice

" are you okay ? " said the voice again

" Do I look okay to you ? " Alyster wanted to say but couldn't , a red tear dripped down his nose

Before he completely blacked out he saw a figure that looked like Auria kneeling over him , the figure held out her hand over his side and a white ball appeared hovering over him . Then everything went black .
