Chapter 33 : Training

Auria grouchily walked down the marble stairs heading to where she hopped was the kitchen . She was baffled seeing so many people awake so early in the morning. It's only past 9 ! The servants bowed as she passed but she barely spared them a glance. She reached an open oak door smelling something sweet and buttery that caused her mouth to water .
She entered the large kitchen that had wooden accents , star white cabinets and a long island in the very centre , all heads turned to her and the chopping of vegetables and buzz of chatter died down as all the chefs bowed

"Oh please continue , act like I'm not even here " Auria said with a polite smile

The chefs hesitantly continued with their tasks but with pindrop silence that was interrupted by an excited squeal , at the back of the kitchen near the pantry stood Lindsay staring at her with wide eyes and an even wider smile , a smile claimed Auria's lips

"Lindsay ! "

"Auria ! "

They ran to each other and met in a tight hug , squealing and jumping in a little cirle . Lindsay broke from the hug and inspected Auria from head to toe spinning her around a few times

"Oh Auria , I can't believe you're finally awake . I've missed you so much dear " Lindsay said in a breaking voice and hugged her again "I was so worried "

Guilt panged in Auria's chest , even though it wasn't her fault that she fell into a coma , she still felt she could have done something better . Auria gave her a small smile and broke from the hug , holding Lindsay by the shoulders as her eyes examined her , memorising her features and comparing them to when she last saw her . Lindsay had developed dark under eyes and she noticed how her skin sagged a little more than before, her eyes were red and tears threatened to spill out . She wore silk floral pajamas with a light lavender robe and navy slippers .

"I'm sorry I put you through all that " Auria whispered

Lindsay shook her head and dried her tears "it's not your fault Auria , now enough of the sad things , you have no idea how annoying Alyster has been since you fell into that coma. Like boy I know I'm your mother but could you leave me alone for 24 hours ! "

Auria laughed "I know right , he can be so clingy sometimes"

Lindsay nodded in agreement as they walked arm in arm to the back of the kitchen that had no chefs . A chef prepared them trays of sticky buns , rolls and honeybuns with caramel tea , Auria sat on the counter while Lindsay leaned against it in a serious gist , and outbursts of laughter

"Morning fam " Alyster greeted energeticly as he entered the kitchen dressed in jogging gear, the chefs turned to him and bowed

"Hi Aly " Lindsay said giving him a side hug

"Hey Alyster " Auria greeted sparing him a smile

"What you both eating ? " He asked eyeing their tray of sticky buns , he grabbed one and bit into it , widening his eyes at the deliciousness "oh Auria , Quince is looking for you "

Auria frowned "what for ? "

"She didn't say , she's around somewhere" Alyster informed snatching the last sticky bun before Lindsay could reach it

Auria nodded and hopped of the counter exiting the kitchen and taking her remaining caramel tea with her , leaving Alyster and Lindsay to bicker . Auria walked anywhere and everywhere in search for Quince , finding her with two other servants mopping the already spotless floors in a dim lounge

"You were looking for me ? " Auria asked standing by the entrance

"Oh yes princess " Quince scurried towards her and slightly nudged her out leading them to a walk
