It wasn't for another two hours after Callie had carried Arizona upstairs that she heard movement coming from her bedroom.
After finding Arizona laying on the cold ground, crying to herself, while repeating over and over again the same name, Callie had been shocked. Emory.
The name that didn't leave her head since she found her dance partner. The name that she had googled ever since assuring herself that Arizona was still breathing. She checked probably every five minutes.
But her curiosity got the best out of her. Arizona didn't tell her anything about Emory. Neither did Teddy. And she didn't want to ask Jo or Alex, two people from Arizona's old team, about her.
Arizona Robbins and Emory Edwards winning championship again. What will they do now?
The headline said. Callie looked towards the bedroom door, to see if Arizona was awake yet. Her question was answered with silence.
Two women, one of them Arizona, were holding a trophy, smiling with wide smiles towards the camera.
Callie could only assume that the brown haired beauty next to Arizona was Emory. They wore a short blue dress, that reached until mid thigh. Their hair was sleacked back into a bun.
"After, again winning the championship, what are your plans now?" The reporter had asked.
"Well, for now, we'll just gonna hit the bed. We've been training for weeks now, with barely any breaks." Emory said.
"How does it feel to have won again? What is your secret for always winning?" The reporter again.
"First of all you need a partner that you can work with, without any troubles. The biggest part isn't about the dancing, or the work you put into it. The biggest part will always be your partner. I'm glad that I, or more likely Ms. Altman, have found and got Emory in our team."
A soft melody pulled Callie out of her 'research'. The phone that she had took with her when she had found Arizona was showing a picture of Arizona and Teddy.
After wondering if she should answer Arizona's phone she decided to do it.
"God, Arizona. Where are you? I've been looking everywhere for you!" Teddy's voice immediately filled the room after taking the call.
"Teddy? It's me, Callie. Arizona is here." Silence.
"Did you hear me?""Yeah, yeah. Just- I'm... confused. What is she doing at your place?" Teddy asked, the relieve hanging deep in her voice.
Callie didn't knew how she was supposed to answer this question. Was she supposed to tell the truth or should she lie. She once accidentally overheard how Teddy and Arizona were talking about Arizona wanting to move out of Teddy's apartment. So she guessed telling the truth wasn't the best thing to do right now.
"We wanted to meet up for breakfast at the Jolex. But we decided to rather stay in as the rain only got heavier." She lied.
"Oh. Okay." Callie knew that Teddy wasn't buying her lie. "Could you tell her to please call me when she has her phone back?"
"Will do. She's just in the bathroom right now. I'll let her know you called."
"Thank you."
"No problem. Bye Teddy."
"Bye."
As soon as the call ended, Callie let out a breath she didn't knew she was holding. Just to be safe, she went to the bedroom once more to check on Arizona. She put the purple blanket that she had on her bed for rather aesthetic reasons on Arizona's pale body after checking that her breathing was regular.
Callie couldn't help herself but continue reading the article about Arizona and Emory again.
"We fell asleep in the hot tub that night." A quiet voice said, pulling Callie out of her thoughts. Arizona stood in the doorway, her eyes focused on the article that Callie had open. I little smiled formed in Arizona's lips. "The bill was so high the following morning that Teddy made us pay it ourselves. Usually the competition center would have payed it. From that day on, Teddy refused to book all inclusive when booking a hotel."
Callie didn't knew what to say or do. Arizona was finally talking about her past, but Callie did not knew how to react.
"Emory, she..." Callie started but stopped when Arizona's head snapped up.
The blonde smiled a sad smile. "I loved her." She could see that the blonde was fighting with tears.
The light sound of Arizona's phone went of, signalling both that someone was calling her.
"Teddy." The blonde said as she looked on her device. "Please forget about what happened before. I'll see you later at practice."
Arizona took Teddy's call, before turning her back to Callie and heading towards the door.
Callie felt guilty after watching Arizona leave. She closed every article she had opened and turned her computer off.
Callie could imagine what went on between Emory and Arizona, not only because of the few articles, rumors and theories she had through, but also on how Arizona was talking about Emory.
The hurt expression on Arizona's face haunted her even hours after the blonde had actually left. Although now, seeing her at practice, her face wasn't how she had imagined, a bit more happier (?), it was still how remembered.
As the melody started playing tho, Callie could watch how Arizona turned on her work mode. Her movements almost melted with the rhythm of the song.
"Talk to me, Arizona." She whispered in Arizona's ear.
Blue eyes looked her. Arizona knew exactly what Callie had just meant. "About what?" She played dumb.
Callie was sure she saw a lonely tear gathering in the corner of Arizona's eye. Arizona tried looking up to avoid the tears to fall. It pained Callie seeing her like this. She tightened her grip around the slim body of Arizona.
"I... I can't tell you. I can't talk about it. Yet." Arizona barely whispered.
"Why not?" Callie questioned with pure interest.
Blue eyes looked back down again, a tear now running down her cheek. "Please don't leave."
AN: What do we think about this chapter? I honestly am not completely okay with it but if I wait any longer with publishing it, I'm afraid calzonafandom might pull my head away from my body. However, it's your turn now
