"I want you to meet someone. I found her at a competition. It was the last one her team would've attended so I did really stole her from someone." Teddy said before even greeting Arizona.
"No, you just snatched her away..." She joked around. "Who is she? Have I heard from her befor?"
"Probably not. She lives in Oklahoma, only visits for important competitions. But I got her to stay a little longer. She was team captain on her last team, they won several comeptitons, got offered more contacts than you can imagine." Teddy continued.
"So when can I meet her?"
"Let's say thirty minutes in the trainingshall?"
"On my way." Arizona replied and took of shortly after.
Arizona entered the hall not even twenty minutes later, excited to meet this woman Teddy had been talking so highly about.
"Oh shit! I'm so sorry." Arizona cursed as she felt herself walking into someone.
"No, no. It's okay. I shouldn't have stood in the way. I'm sorry." The yet unknown woman replied. "I'm Emory."
"Arizona." As Arizona finally took a glance at the stranger's face she was met with the greenest eyes anyone could ever have. Her skin was sun kissed and light tiny freckles covered her nose and cheeks. The stranger's, Emory's, hair was cut in a bob, ending shortly above her shoulders. "Are you new here? I've never seen you around."
"Oh uhm I actually am. Kinda. I met a woman at my last competition. She offered me a contract. I'm here to meet my potential new partner."
"You're the woman Teddy snatched from another Team. You're here to meet me." Arizona was beyond happy that Emory was here to see her. They knew each other since maybe five minutes but they instantly clicked.
Soon Teddy joined them, surprised that the two women already met. They spent the entire afternoon together, talking, figuring out if they'd work as dance partners and lastly signing the contract.
LD
"Listen, I know you're not happy about the contracts but you said it yourself. We will win with those people. Remember the last time I told you that we would win with a certain person?"
Emory. She was talking about Emory.
"Please don't talk about her." Arizona said with a sharp tone.
Talking about Emory was a soft spot Arizona had. Teddy knew that.
Arizona had been crying in bed the last few nights. Teddy kept calling her new partner 'Emory's replacement' which didn't sat right with Arizona. She didn't want a replacement for Emory. She didn't want to start dancing again in first place. But after a long talk with Teddy she finally agreed.
"Do you want to announce them?" Teddy offered. But since her Emory comment, Arizona felt the sadness coming up all over again. So she declined.
LD
"Alright people, we have our contracts here. We've got ten background dancers and one main partner." Teddy announced. The room filled with their candidates gets quiet, everyone hoping to hear their name. "I won't talk for much longer. Background dancers are Lexie Grey, Brittany Celeste, Cristina Yang, Amanda Miller, Jo Wilson, Alex Karev, James Alexander, Liam Smith, Mark Sloan and Robert Murphy." She announced as cheers were heard from those who got in. "And now, due to last second changes, we got two main dancers, as I'm gonna be participating too and will need a partner as well. Now we thought about who we choose for quite a while but decided to go for Addison Montgomery for my partner and for Arizona's new partner Callie Torres!" She announced.
The two chosen women looked at each other with pride and pure happiness.
LD
"Alright, I just got off of the line with the hotel. There should be no problems with them staying staying there." Teddy said as she re-entered the room. After every contract had been signed the two women made every call they'd need.
"I called the agency and let them make new key cards. I also send out the timetables and lists with what they will need the first practice round." Arizona said. After announcing the winners and speaking their congrats Teddy and Arizona had to leave to get everything ready.
Now, almost two hours later both women were exhausted. They went home almost
"You know, I'd ask if you're up for a Friends marathon but those circles underneath your eyes keep getting darker." Teddy joked around as she earned a playful glare from Arizona.
"How about tomorrow? You keep suppressing yawns." As if on cue, Tedy let out a huge yawn, only confirming Arizona's statement.
"Deal. Have you already had dinner? I'd be up for a pizza." Teddy asked, already looking through the flyer.
"Sure. I'll take a margherita."

It was just after 1:30 am when Arizona woke up again. Sweat was dripping down her face, her eyes were swollen and her breathing was ragged.
She had yet another one of those dreams. The nightmares that kept repeating themselves. Where in the one second everything was fine and in the next one she was alone. Sitting in their house, in the darkness, with Emory's voice everywhere. But when she tries to find Emory, she's gone. Arizona passes pictures after pictures of her and Emory and with every picture she passes, Emory disappears a little bit more. When Arizona is at the end of the hallway and turns around she sees a white door. She opens it and is met with a hospital room. Emory's body lays underneath the cover and just as Arizona is about to say her goodbye, Emory jumps up, asking Arizona why she didn't save her.
That's usually when Arizona wakes up crying. Just like right now. Arizona takes a few sips from her water bottle that she has standing right next to her, trying to calm herself down.
Nausea overcame her but she didn't had to puke this time. This was a progress. Right?
She let herself fall back into bed again, as she started crying her eyes out once again.
Was she really ready for the next step?
