I awoke to find that someone put a blanket over me and a pillow under my head.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, completely oblivious to yesterday's events. And then I remembered. It was like all the pain of losing my mom was erased from my memory, just to torture me again later by making me go through it all over again.

Tears formed in my eyes, but I pushed them back. I got up and saw that Alexis wasn't in her bed. So I walked downstairs, finding Alexis and Rachel eating pancakes, a plate already set out for me. I sat in the chair in front of the plate and Rachel placed three steaming pancakes down in the plate and offered me syrup.

"Good morning, I let you sleep longer because I thought you needed it. How did you sleep?" Alexis said slowly.

"Better, I guess." I said, playing with my food.

After breakfast I remembered that today is Thursday... A school day. "I want to go to school today..." I said, only loud enough so that they could just barely hear me.

"Really? You don't have to... I'm sure the school will make an exception..." Rachel said, worried.

"Yeah, I'm sure. I just need to get some clothes though..." I left all my clothes at home. I don't want to go home again.

"You could wear one of my outfits!" Alexis proclaimed hopefully.

"Are you two even the same size?" Rachel questioned.

"Let's see!" Alexis said, she grabbed my arm and drug me to her room. I sat on her bed while she dug through her closet, finding me - using her words - the perfect outfit, fit for my perfect style! Not entirely sure what that means, but I waited to see what she had in mind.

She pulled out of her closet a few minutes later holding black leggings, a mini jeans skirt, a black tank-top and a really cute jeans jacket with a pink flower embroidery design on the bottom left.

"Here ya go! Try these on!" She said throwing the outfit at me.

I got up and started to strip, sending quick glance around the room, feeling really nervous about something I couldn't quite name.

I put on the new outfit, and it fit alright, except the tank-top showed a bit too much cleavage.

Alexis squealed in delight upon seeing me in this outfit. "Oh my gosh! You look so cute! And it all fits! Hmmm... It's missing something though... oh! I got it!"

She raced to her bedside shelf to a small locked box. Using a key that she pulled out of the drawer of her shelf, she unlocked the box and pulled out a necklace.

She skipped over to me, and helped me put on the necklace. It was just a simple pendant on a chain, the pendant was a pink gem of some sort - probably a fake, but still pretty. It looked nice with the outfit, it really tied the whole thing together.

"Thank you! It looks really nice!" I said, actually grateful.

"No problem! If you want, you can keep the outfit! I don't fit in the skirt anymore, and I don't have anything else to wear with that outfit, so go ahead and keep it!"

Thanking her again, we walked downstairs, Rachel was pleased to see I found an outfit.

She drove us to our middle school, PRMS, and dropped us off. As soon as we walked through the doors people ran up to me and started to talk about how they saw the news about my mom on the TV, and they said how much they grieved my loss, like they knew her personally.

It was all a bunch of bull shit. They didn't actually care. Except for Alexis and Taylor, they cared.

Speak of the devil. Taylor ran straight at us, she was practically crying herself. "Whyyyyy didn'ttttt youuuuu telllll meee!!!!!!!" She yelled as she ran. She stopped within a few feet of us.
