Dead bodies scattered the once peaceful streets of Chaska. Homes had been violently busted into, and if someone was to look inside the homes, they would probably find the residents dead too.
With Toby by my side, I walked through the town, shocked at all the blood and deaths around. There were bodies of men, woman and children - just like the news said. I walked past the house of the average-Joe looking guy that stopped me not even six hours ago, his house looked like it was broken into, but I saw his body laying face down in his yard.
I walked over to him and pushed him over onto his back, looking at his face I saw that his throat was slit and there was a smile sliced into the cheeks of the innocent man.
I nearly gagged, it smelt horrible and there was blood everywhere. Toby put his hand on my back, and gently dragged me away from the body.
We walked down the middle of the street, there was no cars anywhere - well, no cars driving at least. We found a couple cars crashed - the entire metal frame engulfed in flames. I made a mistake of looking in one of the windows of a car, and I saw an entire family - parents and kids - murdered, as they tried to flee the city. They all had the cut smiles.
Jeff is out of control - a savage beast. Why is he acting like this?! Will I even be able to stop him?
I started to really panic, looking around at all the death and destruction. I stopped walking, and placed one of my hands on my chest, checking my heart rate. It's too fast. I looked around, suddenly feeling very lost and confused - even though I knew exactly where I was.
I looked at Toby, he looked concerned. His lips were moving, but I couldn't hear what he was saying. I just looked at him blankly, my brain racing - panicking.
"Addy!" I heard Toby scream. I snapped back to reality and looked at him. "Don't scare me like that!" He said.
"I'm sorry, I'm having my doubts..." I said slowly. "What if we can't stop Jane. Or Jeff."
"Don't worry! We can do this!" Ticci Toby said, trying his hardest to stay optimistic. I knew he was just as worried and confused as I was though.
I nodded and we continued to walk, he didn't tell me where exactly he found Jane, but we were heading roughly towards Alexis's house.
"You changed him you know." Toby said suddenly, after a few minutes.
"What?" I said surprised.
"Jeff. You changed him." He said bluntly.
"How so?" I asked, looking up at him, continuing to walk.
"He used to be a full murderer, almost no human emotions. He really only cared about me and Sally and the others. Now..." He trailed off, knowing that I know exactly what he's like now.
I looked back in front of me, lost in thoughts.
House after house we passed, and the body count got higher and higher. Buildings and cars where on fire, and the smoke in the air burned my lungs. I coughed, trying to clear my throat, and Toby looked at me. I looked at him, and saw that he was fine because of his mouth guard.
I brought my sleeve up to my mouth and nose and tried hard not to breath, unless necessary.
Toby stopped walking abruptly. I stopped and looked up at him, his face showed that he was shocked. I followed his gaze, and then I understood why he was shocked.
Jeff was across the street, he didn't seem to notice us. He was standing over a teenage girl - and I recognized her as one of the girls I go to school with - she was still alive, crying and pleading for her life.
