It was mid way through show week, at this small youth theatre club. Where a girl called Barbara, had made good friends with her show partner, Adam. They briefly knew eachother from school but he was the grade above her.
Barbara, was sat on a small worn couch crying in her dressing room. She'd not been copping well recently and Adam was the only one that knew this, not even her current boyfriend knew that she wasn't feeling too great. When Adam, realised she wasn't at their normal (stage) places, he rushed down the theatres creaky stairs and knocked at her door.
"Barbara, can I come in?" He asked and got no response. He knocked again "Barbara, I'm coming in!" He called out loudly. He gasped seeing her curled up crying on the couch. "Hey, hey, hey.. what's wrong? Shh.." he instantly went over to her, checking her arms for anything and then hugging her."I can't- everything's too much... with my dad in the hospital, school sucks and we're the leads of a show. It's all so much at once. There's also other things, but that doesn't matter." The young teenage girl sniffled, as Adam cradled her gently to calm her.
"Look at me..." he moved her chin, so she was looking at him. Her eyes and cheeks, were red. Followed by m, stains from where her tears had been cascading down her face. "You're going to be okay. I know it's difficult but, you are so strong and you're handling everything amazingly. Good job." He smiled looking into her eyes.
Barbara stared deeply back into his eyes, she knew she was doing something wrong but she didn't know what to do. Slowly Adam put his forehead against hers, their lips were close but were broken by a sigh from Barb "we can't, I'm sorry. I'm with someone." She guilty looked away.
"I know, me too.." Adam disappointedly replied and left her to get ready.—————————-
The show was running smoothly and professionally, but their kissing scene was coming up. Barbara, still had so many mixed feelings and there she was, the heat beaming onto their bodies from the lights, their voices perfectly singing in harmony. The next thing she knew she was kissing him. On stage. Infront of hundreds of people. And a beat too early, but the orchestra was trying to save it. They didn't pull away, his hands were on her cheeks, she had her arms wrapped around his neck, as she tiptoed up and he crouched down. The moment was so perfect. That was until, they pulled away and the crowd of young people stood up cheering.Hyperventilating, Barbara, turned to look at the audience with fear in her eyes "Oh, my god.." the girl muttered breathlessly, before darting off stage and down the hallway, that fed off to loads of dressing rooms. Adam, ran off stage quickly after the girl. All of the cast were watching, as Adam approached a stressed, crying, and scared barbara.
"Barbara-" Adam said trying to get close to her.
"No, stop! Don't!" She cried "We can't! We can't do this. It may feel right but we can't!" She slowly began giving way, her body felt itself wanting to sink down onto the floor.
"But- I love you. There I said it. I love you. I love you, Barbara! I want to be with you and I know you want that too." Adam for once stood his ground, like some Adam2.0 all of a sudden.
Barbaras voice broke, as she ran hugging him tightly. He held her in his arms, whilst she looked up at him crying "I love you too.." she whisperd. Their foreheads met, which turned into a soft, pationate, kiss between the two.The cast cheered and clapped loudly for the two but what were they going to do about their partners?
—————————-
Both the pair , broke things off and surprisingly the people they were with, got together. Along with getting married and having children in the future.Barbara and Adam had happily been dating for a while now and Adam was sat watching her graduate, smiling proudly at his lovely girlfriend, soon to be fiancé.
