Days passed in a blur. Finally it was the day of the party. I was super jittery as I entered Professor Mamba's classroom, my last class of the day. He began to speak in his thick Italian accent as the last of us took our seats. "Alright class, today you will be given all class period to answer a fifty question test on what is a patronus/ how to banish a dementor. And time begins... now!" He slams his giant hourglass on his desk and we begin. After about twenty minutes I answer the last question on my test with my peacock feathered quill. As I am finished, I begin to read my year seven D.A.D.A. textbook. I know, I am only a fifth year but, I like reading ahead so I'll be prepared for the years to come. "Ahem, ah ahem." Professor Mamba makes an awkward coughing sound as I look up from chapter 3: how to produce a patronus. He snatches my book away and gives me... the death glare. What's his problem? Anyway as I wait for the last thirty minutes of the period to pass I look around. Nothing new. Because we usually have a new D.A.D.A. professor every year no one ever bothers to brings in any of their personal belongings. Just the supplies we needed for the year. Except I hadn't realized something. Sitting on Mamba's desk was a birthstone encrusted, gold clad, lamp. I suddenly had a flashback of a... blonde man... wearing green... wearing a gold and... obsidian ring... holding the lamp and... Ah!" I yelp. I suddenly have the worst headache. It's searing pain is like a brain freeze and sweating from eating the hottest pepper alive AT the same time. I raise my hand, my hand going haywire in motion. "Yes, Reyna?" He sneered at me "Can I maybe possibly go to Madam Pomfrey because my head is... getting blurry... black... ever so dizzy..." "Go to Pomfrey immediately and don't come back!" "Y yy yesssssss s s ss sir." I stutter. Sitting alone in the hospital wing by myself I hummed a song. It was a song from my childhood that I couldn't remember the lyrics to. It was very strange what Madam Pomfrey had to say next. "Why girl, I don't know what happened to you but, I know that the only other person who ever had this condition I think was Mr. Harry Potter. Now continue to take this painkiller medicine as instructed until we can schedule a meeting with Mr. Potter. Go on now, shoo!" I hurry out into the corridor to run into Lily, Luna, and surprisingly Jacob. "Are you okay?" Asks Lily. "I'm fine," Jacob then opens his mouth to say something but I interrupt him "And yes I feel fine enough to still come to the Gryffindor party as your... date." Jacob lets out a sigh of relief. Okay Reyna see you at seven thirty!" He shouts. For some reason all this time, Luna has stayed silent. Luna Longbottom is well, she's very smart, and very pretty, and a amazing fashionista. She is my third favorite person at this school, Lily being second and you know who as number one. "So... Luna..." "Hey do you have a sec? I wanna show you something amazing!" Luna finally says. "Uh... sure?" Luna leads me to her closet in the girls dorm of Ravenclaw tower. Man the door knockers riddles keep getting harder and harder. She throws open the shimmery silver doors and, being worn by a mannequin in a beautiful lilac chinton style dress. It's much more modern though. the bottom half is parted down the center with silvery lace hemming the bottom. "OMG Luna," I stand there speechless. "You... Did... All... This?" Luna speaks up "Yes I did. It's for you. Now go get changed I found your silver goddess style strap heels and if you hurry I can manage to curl your hair a bit. Go! The party starts in like half an hour. That's barely enough time. Go!" The only word that can come out of my mouth are "Thank... you!!!!!!!" I put on the dress and my heels. I take a quick gaze in the mirror. Dang I think to myself I look fabulous! Luna adds some soft curls to my hair and then ties my hair in a bun. A few curls escape, cascading down my face, making me look like a true goddess. Before I can say anything else she shoves me out the door and walks me to the portrait of The Fat Lady. She leaves me there and I utter the password "Binomial Nomenclature." I say. The portrait swings open and I step inside, to the legendary Gryffindor common room. The common room was charming, with great tapestries depicting great Gryffindor heroes fighting the world's most dangerous creatures of black magic. There is a great fire place against the wall which is roaring with burning hot flames as the music suddenly stops. Instantly, a spotlight finds me. All eyes turn to me, everyone's jaws an inch from the floor. "And now arriving, fashionably late is Miss Reyna Elderblood!" Shouts Layla Jordan, a fifth year Gryffindor and all around amazing Quidditch announcer just like her father Lee, I hear. "Wow..." Jacob is speechless. "OMG Reyna where did you get your dress? It's to die for!" Lily shouts of the loud, obnoxious, muggle music. Lily is dressed in her favorite fuchsia and salmon pink dress that I bought her last year for Christmas. I respond "Luna made it custom, just for me." "OMG that girl needs to start a boutique in Diagon Alley!" Lily says. "Yes." I agree. As I wonder through the crowd Jacob came up from behind me carrying two bottles of Butter Beer. "Thanks Jacob!" I say as he hands me a bottle. "Your welcome," he replies "So uh thanks for being my uh... date." He says to me, quite nervously. He's sweating bullets and his face is cherry tomato red. A song comes on "Trippin out, spinnin around I'm under ground, I fell down. I fell down. I'm freakin out, so where am I now? Upside down..." Jacob then, speaks up in a broad voice "Um Reyna," he starts. He then takes a deep breath. "Would you like to dance?" "Sure" I reply. We make our way to the dance floor. He puts his hand on my hip and I put my hand on his shoulder. We begin a sort of slow dance. I don't know how to dance and I think Jacob realizes it too because he speaks up "Don't worry about the movement of your feet, just follow my lead." Okay I think. We begin going a bit faster. I start actually having fun until I step on Jacob's left foot. He then falls backward, causing me to fall the opposite direction and hit the drink table. Bottles of Butter Beer, Fire Whiskey, and other various drinks shatter around my body. Suddenly the punch bowl tips over and I'm covered in a sticky, red, liquid. "Ha!" A voice shouts from the crowd. "The know-it-all doesn't know a thing about dancing!" Shouted James Potter, Lily's oldest brother. I found myself, in Wonderland. I stand up to find everyone staring at me. I get back on my feet, again. I run to the portrait of The Fat Lady, and it swings open. Is this real? I begin to run down the steps of Gryffindor tower. Or is this pretend? I eventually stop running and sit down. I unlace my heels and sit there, crying, and embarrassed and regretting ever going to that party. I sit there for a while until I hear foot steps. I begin to get up, but stop and wait to see who it is. It's Jacob, sweating from running down five flights of stairs to find me. "Jacob, please not now." I plead with him. "Wait," he begins. "I need to tell you something." "Jacob, I don't want to..." Before I can finish my sentence, he pulls me in for a... kiss. It's short and sweet and well it was my first kiss. We just stand there dumbstruck for a little while and then he speaks up "Hey I was wondering if um..." He begans turning even more red then before he spoke "You could maybe keep this a secret?" He asks. I nod, still in shock of what just happened. "Okay. So see you in History of Magic tomorrow." I slowly descend down the stairs, wondering of all the girls in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin why did he chose me?
