"Daddy, I thought no one knew me here,"
Jin said, a mix of confusion and frustration evident in his voice as he held his phone to his ear, his gaze fixed on the man standing in front of him.
The man, tall and handsome, with a smile that reminded Jin of a bunny, caught his attention as soon as he arrived at the university entrance.
Earlier, upon reaching the university, Jin had been amazed by its vast and stunning architecture. But his amazement was short-lived, as he encountered the man who seemed to be waiting for him.
Anxious and feeling a bit indignant, Jin immediately called his father to express his frustration.
Taehyung, from the other end of the call, sought to calm his upset son.
"Sweet cake, he's the only one who knows who you are. He's the one who helped me make sure no one there knew about you. Don't worry, he's a Choi, and he used to be my best friend. Well, he still is. He's someone I trust wholeheartedly, Jin. So be polite and show him respect,"
Taehyung's reassuring words eased Jin's troubled mind. He ended the call and then humbly bowed 90 degrees, showing respect as he greeted the older man.
"Hello, I'm Jin. I apologize if my behavior was rude," Jin said, displaying manners and respect, which caused Mr. Choi to smile.
"It's okay, I don't mind at all. Nice to meet you, Jin. I'm Choi Soobin. You can call me Mr. Choi, no need to be so polite," Choi Soobin replied, putting Jin a bit at ease.
"I finally get to see you. You're so handsome and beautiful, just like Tae and Jimin. It's like you're a mixture of them,"
Soobin said, admiring Jin, who was surprised by the compliment.
"You...you know about that too?" Jin was unsure whether the man was aware of his two fathers.
Soobin's smile, however, indicated that he might know more than Jin realized.
"Of course, I know. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about it. It'll be our secret," Soobin assured Jin, who felt bad that his words might have been misunderstood.
"No, you misunderstood. I meant to ask if you know about my fathers. I didn't mean to imply that you would reveal it or something. Really," Jin hurriedly clarified.
Soobin smiled and said, "I didn't misunderstand, Jin. I know what you're trying to say. Don't worry. I know everything, and no, I'm not shocked at all. Because I am the same too," leaving Jin puzzled but hesitant to ask more questions.
Soobin took the suitcase from Jin's hand, instructed the driver to bring the other suitcase, and began to walk inside the university, leaving Jin dumbfounded.
Confused, Jin ran after Soobin, but ultimately decided to focus on admiring the university, where he would be studying and spending a significant part of his life.
"You have a lot of baggage here," Soobin remarked, glancing at the luggage being carried by the driver and a security guard, all belonging to Jin.
Smiling in embarrassment, Jin scratched his head and said, "Uh, you see..."
"No need to explain. I know it's all done by your two fathers, right?" Soobin asked, still walking ahead.
"Y-yeah, right," Jin replied with an awkward smile.
"I can see he is doing what he said," Soobin remarked, leaving Jin puzzled as he did not understand what he meant. Jin felt bewildered and confused because Choi Soobin kept speaking in riddles, and Jin couldn't quite comprehend him. Yet, despite this enigmatic nature, Jin did not feel uncomfortable around Soobin. In fact, Soobin seemed like a good guy.
