- IN THE DORM
Jin sat on the edge of his bed in the dorm room, the weight of the morning's events pressing heavily on his shoulders. His mind was spinning, replaying every word, every look, and every touch from his encounter with Jungkook. The room was quiet, almost too quiet, as if the walls themselves were holding their breath, waiting for Jin to make sense of everything.
Across from him, Jhope and Namjoon stood with their arms crossed, their expressions a mix of concern and disbelief. They had been watching him ever since they returned from class, noticing how distant and distracted he had been. Now, they were determined to get some answers.
"Jin, what’s going on between you and Jungkook?" Namjoon finally asked, his voice calm but firm, though laced with an underlying tension. He and Jhope exchanged a glance, silently urging Jin to speak.
Jin blinked, slowly pulling himself out of his thoughts. He looked up at his friends, who were patiently waiting for him to respond. There was no escaping it—they deserved to know, especially after everything that had happened.
Jin took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "I... I don't even know where to start," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "He's... he's just so confusing. One minute, he's this annoying guy who's always picking on me, and the next... he's saying things that make me feel like I'm the only person in the world that matters to him."
Jhope and Namjoon listened intently, their expressions softening as Jin spoke. They exchanged another look, one filled with concern.
"What do you mean? What did he do?" Jhope asked cautiously.
Jin hesitated for a moment, his heart pounding in his chest. Then, with a shaky voice, he confessed, "H- He told me he likes me."
For a moment, there was only silence, the words hanging in the air like a bomb waiting to explode.
"He WHAT?" Both Jhope and Namjoon exclaimed loudly, their voices echoing in the small room. Jin winced, instinctively covering his ears. He knew they would be shocked, but hearing their reactions made the reality of the situation hit even harder.
Namjoon was the first to recover from his shock, though disbelief was still etched on his face. "What the hell, Jin? Are you joking? There's no way he can... like you. I mean, he’s a literal beast with no feelings, a monster who only knows how to play with others' lives. Someone who can't even say a simple sorry or thank you knows about love? That's hilarious." He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head as if trying to rid himself of the absurdity of it all.
"Exactly," Jhope agreed, his voice tinged with both nervousness and disbelief. "It's funnier than anything. He can't ever fall for anyone... especially not you. How can he fall for his own enemy? You two are enemies, and he's the one who made it that way. You always get on his nerves—there's no way he can like you, right?"
Jin felt a lump form in his throat, his hands trembling slightly as he recalled the intensity in Jungkook's eyes. "I know, I’m confused too," he said, his voice shaking with uncertainty. "But... there was something different about him today. The way he talked to me, the way he looked at me... It didn’t feel like a prank. It felt real."
Namjoon furrowed his brows, trying to make sense of everything. "But why would he do this out of nowhere? You two have never gotten along. If anything, he’s always been trying to make your life—and ours—harder. Why the sudden change? I don’t remember you doing anything to make him like you. Did you?"
Jin shook his head slowly, his voice barely audible. "Other than beating him in arguments and fights, I don’t think I’ve ever done anything to make him like me. We’ve never even had a normal conversation."
