The next day I woke up, and it was 8:45. Shit. I was late for school.
I hurried up and got ready.
After I got ready, I went upstairs to see my mom sitting at the Kitchen table drinking coffee.
"Why didn't anyone tell me I was late."
"You don't have to go to school today, I got somethings to tell you guys!"
I instantly felt a shock come on.
"I'm not moving!" I blurted
"Well," my mom started to say, "the big boss was just fired for a scandal, and they want me to take his place back home.!" she said with a sigh.
"And, Anala, I gotta take it, I left your brothers at home with their dads until we got settled, now, they won't even have to move out here, and I'll have more than enough money, this is a good job."
"I'm staying here."
She just stared at me blankly.
"okay, if that's what you want."
I just looked at her.
The fuck? She'll let me stay? I thought.
She just sipped her coffee and said,"You need to grow up a little, I've shielded you so much, plus Lilly and Kayline are here and they're 18, Kayline will be 19 in 3months and I moved out at 17, the house is paid for, because I thought this would be permanent, but at least it'll get used."
I was still just staring. Was she serious?
"the house is paid for but there are utilities of course, internet and cable, and I left a ten thousand dollar billing account for that and I'm leaving $20,000 in a bank account for food, shopping necessities, and ya know, but you guys are gonna have to get jobs when that runs out. Anala Jai, I'm trusting you to be the young adult I raised."
I just sat down, and sighed so heavily, it felt like the world was lifted off my shoulders, and then slammed right back down. It was a lot to take in. My mom new me. She knew I wouldn't want to move again, even though I was moving back to where I came from. I just hated picking up and carrying my life places.
"you don't have to stay here, i just thought that you would like to!" my mom said hugging me.
"No. I do wanna stay, it's just so much to take in at once."
"i know, and that's why I helped you out. I'll be leaving in three days. So I thought we could shopping and do spa stuff ya know."
I just shook my head in agreement.
I spent the day with my mom at the spa. We relaxed, we had fun, and we just lived and laughed.
The next day I went to school with Lilly and Kayline, but none of the boys were there. Not Embry, Quil, or Jake.
Alexander was there though.
"hey," he caught up to me "what's up, where ya goin'."
I was heading out the door, I didn't really feel like being at school. I didn't tell Lilly or Kayline either because I didn't really want to be bothered. Alexander kept following me.
"I'm going."
"No you're not!" I grumbled.
"yes. I am."
Whatever, I didn't feel like arguing with him.
I unlocked the car doors and let him in.
I drove us to the beach. It was the first place I'd met anyone here. I felt serene here.
