As Y/n swung through the city, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, but one image haunted him relentlessly: Lt. Drake's lifeless body in his arms, and Yuri's devastated expression. This grim memory seemed etched into his consciousness, unshakable. In an attempt to distract himself, he pondered on how he could improve his abilities. He ruled out enhancing his combat skills for now, as Pete was arranging for him to meet a mentor in that area.
His focus shifted to mastering his unique ability to create portals. Delving deeper into understanding their mechanics and exploring innovative ways to utilize them became a priority. Additionally, he acknowledged a gap in his knowledge regarding technology and strategy. Unlike Pete, Y/n had always relied more on instinct and brute force rather than technical savvy or tactical planning. He resolved to dedicate more time to learning, considering seeking assistance from Miles and Pete for tutoring.
Arriving home, Y/n landed on the rooftop, where his bag was securely wrapped around a small pole. He quickly changed out of his costume and descended the fire escape, opting for the front door since he knew Rio was at home. Slipping through the door, he climbed the stairs to his apartment, his steps heavy with the day's burdens.
Unlocking and entering his apartment, Y/n called out, "I'm home."
Rio's voice came from around the corner, carrying a note of surprise. "Oh, Y/n, come to the living room. You have friends over," she said.
"Friends?" Y/n's surprise at seeing Wanda and Pietro in his living room was evident.
"Hey amigo!" Pietro, ever the picture of enthusiasm, greeted him warmly, his face betraying his indulgence in Rio's tamales. Wanda, on the other hand, seemed distant, her demeanor suggesting she was there out of necessity rather than choice.
Y/n, still grappling with the day's events, felt a reluctance to entertain guests. "I'll be in my room. Let me know when they leave," he said, turning to leave.
Rio, however, had other ideas. "Don't be like that, Y/n. Take them to your room," she insisted.
"Do I have to?" Y/n asked, his voice tinged with reluctance.
"Yes," Rio replied firmly.
With a resigned groan, Y/n signaled for Wanda and Pietro to follow him. "Come on," he said, leading the way to his room.
Pietro, not one to pass up an opportunity, quickly stood up, plate of tamales in hand. "Oh, Ms. Morales, can I take these with me?" he asked eagerly.
"Of course. Here, take some salsa Verde and Guajillo too," Rio said, handing him two small bowls of sauce to accompany the tamales.
"Thanks, Ms. Morales, you're the best," Pietro beamed, following Y/n while balancing his precious plate.
Rio then turned to Wanda, offering hospitality. "You sure you don't want anything, Wanda?"
Wanda politely declined. "It's fine, I doubt we'll be here that long anyways," she said, standing up to follow the others.
As she made her way to Y/n's room, a sudden shout from Pietro echoed down the hallway. "Y/n, those are my tamales! Give them back!"

"Wow, nice way to greet your friends," Pietro retorted with a scoff.
"Shouldn't you two be lounging in your fancy mansion or something?" Y/n shot back.
