I sit at the Feast Shelter as I decided to help out Aunt May with it. Soon Peter should be showing up soon as well as Miles. Aunt May wanted me to help him find his feet here and if he needs it, support him through his father's death. Currently I'm trying to help Ernie fix the shitty tv. He continues to smack the tv a good few times.
"Ernie, I'm pretty sure that's not how you fix it."
"Come on kid, you just have to hit really good, I know you're smarter than that."
I let out a sigh as Ernie continued to fumble with the tv. "Ernie, maybe you just need to try connecting the red wire to the blue one instead," I suggested, trying not to sound too snide.
"Are you kidding me? That wouldn't make any sense," Ernie scoffed, clearly frustrated. "I've been doing this for years, and I know what I'm doing."
I raised an eyebrow but decided not to argue further. After all, I clearly wasn't exactly an expert when it came to fixing TVs. "Alright then, do your thing," I said, backing off and crossing my arms. I watch him struggle for a while before hearing a voice next to me.
"So, you're just going to sit back and watch this." I turn to see Kyouko standing there with a small smile.
"He said he knows what he's doing. More importantly what are you doing here?"
"Volunteer hours, I also wanted to talk to you about something."
I glanced at Kyouko curiously, wondering what she wanted to talk about. "Sure, what's up?" I replied, leaning against the counter near the TV. Ernie continued his futile attempts to fix it, completely engrossed in his task.
"It'd be better to talk about in pri-" She doesn't get to finish as Peter comes and puts a hand on my shoulder.
""Hey, Y/n. Sorry I'm late," Peter apologizes as he joins the conversation. "I got held up at work. What's going on here?"
I nodded, gesturing towards Ernie. "Ernie here is giving it his best shot. We've been at it for a while now."
"I see." Pete says before looking over to Kyouko. "I'm guessing your Kyouko?"
"You've heard of me?"
"A little bit, Y/n has talked about you a bit."
Kyouko raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Oh, has he? And all good things, I hope?"
"Only the best things, of course." Peter smiled, his gaze shifting between us. "Well, I trust Y/n's judgement. If he says you're alright, then you're alright in my book."
Kyouko smirked, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Glad to hear that. Y/n, we were talking about something earlier before Peter came in. Maybe we can continue that conversation later?"
I nodded, grateful for the distraction from the ongoing TV repair. "Definitely. Let's find a quieter spot at some point."
"Well, I'm going to go help May in the kitchen. Can you show Miles around when he gets here." Pete asks.
"Sure thing, Pete. I've got it covered," I replied. Pete walks away and I show Kyouko around the shelter. 10 minutes pass before Kyouko fully settles in, helping out wherever she can. Meanwhile I spent my time trying to calm down Mr. Hodges as his paranoia kicked in and he started spouting stuff about the demons. Just then Miles walks through the door.
