"I got myself into this, I'm getting myself out."
"What the fuck do you mean you got yourself into this." I say to MJ. I sit upside down from a web as I look at MJ in confusion. We sit in Grand Central terminal that the demons so happen to attack and set up Devil's Breath. A group of civilians are huddled near the Devil's Breath and Demons littered the terminal. "There's a lot of them so, if you would just let me get you out of here first, that'd be great. Pretty sure Pete would appreciate that too."
"If you're worried about how many there are then we'll start taking them out quietly."
"We? You must be delusional." She doesn't reply as she hides behind a pillar from two demons. I quickly web back up to the ceiling. I watch as she sits there for a bit before pulling something out of her pocket and throwing it near one of the demons. It begins letting off a quiet beeping, attracting the demon's attention. He splits off from the other demon and I quickly take the change, dropping down and scooping him before swinging back up to the ceiling and wrapping him in a cocoon. We continue this for a while as she makes her way to the Devil's Breath but is stop short when Martin Li enters the room. MJ hides behind some boxes as Martin Li and a few demons only stand a few feet away from her.
"I could use a distraction right now." I hear MJ's voice in my earpiece. I shoot two lines of web at a display screen, and I pull, making it fall onto the two nearest demons.
"Prepare the bomb." Li says as he walks aways into the subway and the rest of the demons spread out. One of run to the Devil's Breath and begins a countdown on it before running off.
"Okay, now's your chance." I tell her. She begins making her way over to the Devil's Breath. She picks it up before running off somewhere else to hide. "Okay, what do you see."
"Well it's definitely a bomb. It looks like the blue wire is connected to the battery, and yellow to a fan. The red one has a little exclamation point."
"Alright start with disconnecting the battery."
"Are you sure you know what you're talking about."
"If I didn't know what I was doing I wouldn't be giving you directions would I. Now disconnect the fucking battery." MJ scoffs and carefully begins disconnecting the blue wire from the battery. As she does so, I keep a close eye on the remaining demons, making sure they don't notice her. "Just a heads up, more demons are heading your way," I inform her, watching as a group of them appear to be patrolling the area. "Make it quick."
MJ's hands move swiftly as she disconnects the blue wire, the battery falling silent. "Battery disconnected," she whispers into her earpiece, relief evident in her voice. "What?! The timer just went down to thirty seconds."
"I. Fucking. Hate. Bombs." I give a long groan before replying. "It's a collapsing circuit, just hurry and disconnect the fan now." I instruct her, my eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger. As MJ reaches for the yellow wire, the demons' footsteps grow louder. They're getting closer. "Hurry, MJ," I urge, gripping tightly to the web I'm hanging from, ready to swing into action if needed. She manages to disconnect the yellow wire just as the demons pass by not noticing her, their attention focused on the ceiling, looking for me. With a short sigh of relief, MJ informs me of her progress.
"Fan disconnected," she whispers, the tension in her voice still present.
"Great, now the red wire. But be careful." I tell her, my grip on the web tightening as I prepare for any sudden movements. As she carefully approaches the red wire, her phone suddenly goes off, the sound echoing through the terminal, catching the attention of the remaining demons. They start scanning the area, searching for the source.
