Narrator's POV:
'Everyone is born- but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, bakers, or candlestick makers. Some will either be really good at making Jell-O salad.'
'One way or another, though. Every human being is unique-for better or for worse. Most parents believe that their children are the most beautiful creatures ever to grace the planet-others take a less emotional approach.'
-However that was not the case for a girl named Amber McAllister. Since she was born, she had the life that most kids dreamt of- two parents, still married and siblings, so that she would never be alone: She has an older sister, Melody & two younger siblings- a younger sister named Lola and a younger brother named Casen. That makes Amber the middle child.
'I believe we have a choice in this world about how to tell sad stories. On the one hand, you can sugarcoat it-the way they do in movies and romance novels. Where beautiful people learn beautiful lessons...and nothing is too messed up that can't be fixed with an apology and a Peter Gabriel song. I like that version as much as the next girl does, believe me. It's just not the truth... this is the truth...sorry.'- The Fault in Our Stars.
