Sunghoon was too impatient and he knew it was something he needed to work on, but today wasn't the day for that.

When he opened his eyes and Misuk was still laying asleep next to him, he rushed out of bed and ran towards Jake's room. He needed to talk to someone.

"Idiot, open the door! It's me."

Jake was on the verge of falling asleep again when he heard his friend's voice. Enhypen's manager called him up so he could start getting ready but he was too sleepy. He didn't understand how Sunghoon could be up so early after a night out but he still dragged himself out of bed.

"Are you crazy? Let me sleep! Is it because of your hangover?"

That's when Sunghoon remembered.

"Jake!" he screamed walking inside the room. "I fucked up so bad yesterday."

Jake fixed his hair before closing the door and sat down on the chair next to the bed. He knew what was happening so he got comfy in the seat. He doesn't get paid for listening to a rant this early in the morning though.

With Jake's help, Sunghoon starts putting the pieces of last night together and by the time they're done recalling everything, the australian guy became the first person aware of Sunghoon's new love phase.

"It must be so nice to live inside your empty brain" Jake laughed. "It took you, what? Almost 5 years? 5 years to admit you like that girl."

Sunghoon rolled his eyes. "Don't be mean."

"It's true but it's okay because it's reciprocated, right?"

He didn't believe so.

He wasn't sure what Misuk considered flirting since she was such an extroverted, bubbly girl. He wasn't sure if he was seeing their late night conversations, stolen glances and laughs as something other than a friendship. He didn't know for sure and he was scared of finding out.

"Should I just tell her?" he asked and Jake nodded. "I've tried to get closer before but nothing happens so I think I really need to be as clear as possible with it now."

"And how are you planning to do so?"

A couple of knocks on the door interrupted the boys.

Jake jumped off his seat as he got startled by the sound and Sunghoon quickly stood up, knowing Misuk was standing behind that door.

As soon as she walked inside, Misuk started throwing punches at his chest. "Why did you left me alone, Park Sunghoon?"

Sunghoon smiled. She couldn't even dare to hit him with some strength. "Sorry, Jake needed me."

"So it's your fault he left me...

Misuk ran to the chair where Jake was laying down so he rolled on top of the bed to get to the other side of the room, far away from her. Sunghoon just watched the scene while trying to hide his idiotic smile. They were insane but he loved his best friends so much.

When Misuk got tired of chasing Jake around, she noticed how unpacked the boy was so curiosity filled her mind. "Are you guys not flying back to Korea?"

"Nope, we are staying for a few more days."

"We are too busy" Sunghoon said and Misuk was so close to start sulking. They only have a few gigs together this year and not much free time.

Sunghoon saw how disappointed the girl was and he shared that sentiment too. The boys haven't been spending much time at home and it was taking a toll on him. At least they were seeing each other Christmas and New Year's, right?

Misuk's phone beeped twice and without even looking at it, she knew that was her cue to go. "So... it was nice seeing you both."

For some reason, awkwardness floated around the room and that was a rare occurrence. It was like the boys were hiding something from her but she couldn't tell what was it.

Jake threw kisses at the girl as a goodbye and Sunghoon left the room alongside her, with this yearning feeling inside of him. He wanted to confess right now.

"Are you okay?"

Misuk knew him too well.

She could tell he wasn't in his usual self this morning and that was freaking her out. Maybe it was about the stuff he said las night? Oh, he wanted to apologize and didn't know how to do so.

"Is this about last night?" she insisted. "It doesn't matter, Hoon. You were drunk, it's okay."

Full of confusion, sunghoon said, "What are we exactly talking about?"

The girl widened her eyes and took one step backwards. She was wrong. This wasn't about last night. Could he be lying?

"Nothing. So... see you soon?" she muttered smiling softly. Sunghoon put on his typical bread smile while opening his arms so she could hug him.

"See you soon" Sunghoon whispered before kissing the top of her head.

Misuk felt relieved in his arms, like always, and for the first time, he was aware this was everything he ever wanted, even if the idea of losing it all was terrifying. Being this close to her was enough at the time but he craved for more. He was going to try his hardest to have her forever now.
