When I was way younger, I had a lot of dreams. I aspired to be a secret agent, just like him. Well, this was somewhat close, except I didn't get to disguise myself, or have a super catchy spy name. I had decided on that very blissful day that I'd want to name myself Agent Starlight, or Agent Chimera, but then Agent Chimera already existed. (Yes, I'm talking about my stuffed toy) I wanted to be known as Starlight: The mind reader. I'd fantasise about how seemingly mysterious of a figure I'd be.

Too bad, I'd say to my younger self. Sometimes you don't get to become a super cool spy agent, but end up with something close... It's like the quote: 'Reach for the Moon, you'll land somewhere amongst the stars'.

I remembered not being able to understand what it meant, but, oh well, this is what reality does to you. It makes you wiser than you ever were back in first grade, back when you were allowed to be delusional. Now if you're ever delusional, people spit on your face. It's brutal.

I took a deep breath and then gently knocked on the mahogany door. "Enter..." A muffled voice says from the inside. "Uncle Yuri-?"
"Huh? Oh- It's you, what brings you here, brat?" Uncle Yuri's red eyes gleamed and he glanced at me before going back to... uh, reading his romance novel. "Mama said that-"
"Yor said something?" His head jerked up and he slammed the book shut. (Poor Book)

"..."

"Sorry-Carry on-"
"Anyway- Mama said that she wanted to invite us for dinner... so..."

My sweet sister, my precious sister, my precious sister invited me for dinner?

"Maybe we can go..."

My poor dear older sister, she must be so lonely by herself, if only if that Loittie-

"Together...?"

Hah, that bastard Loittie, he left my sister, and he left that brat for my dear poor sister to take care of- poor brat, she was abandoned by her-

"What do you say, Uncle?" I said, interrupting his train of thought.

"Yeah yeah, is that all?" He scowled at me, "Ye-" "Okay then, get out of here...and don't forget to shut the door behind you..." he glanced at my direction one last time before getting engrossed into his romance book. (It was seriously titled 'My Mafia Malewife') I shut the abnormally large mahogany door gently (his ears are sensitive... too sensitive)

Maybe Uncle Yuri and Becky should meet up sometime. They'd make a good fan-base, maybe they'd even open a fan club for this book.

Honestly, I dreaded talking to Uncle Yuri sometimes. It wasn't because of his profound obsessiveness and affection for his dear sister(I'd learnt to endure it), but it was always the mention of him that irked me.

I know it was all for a mission, but it hurt like hell knowing that someone you hoped would give you a home, would only end up giving you memories that you'd cherish, knowing that they've abandoned you and who even knows if they'd come back? No one, because they never do come back. If that was the case, then maybe my biological mother wouldn't have left me there years ago.

"Uncle Yuri!" I waved frantically. The day had passed by like the visibility of dust particles in the dark. Nothing. Dusk now approached us, the evening sky was an ombre of orange, blue, pink and violet. "What's with the flowers-?"
"There's no time for questions, brat, you're late by 25 minutes, hurry up else we'll miss the subway."

And so we ran. We ran faster than the speed of light.
