Yor let out another heavy sigh as she stared at the boiling tea pot humming away. Her dark, silky raven hair was tied into a neat bun from the back. She brushed her bangs aside as she stood there idly and took in her surroundings. Bored, as she was, she started to stare at the people around her.
Her eyes immediately went to Chief Barnes.
Round, short, about 5'0, 169 pounds. She started to stare blankly at the knives laid out in front of her. Which one was the sharpest out of all of them? Ah yes, she picks up a common utility knife, fatal, but least likely to be suspected as a murder weapon. 150 mm, streamlined blade, not too broad, portable–
"--Earth to Yor?!" Yor snapped out of her trance and immediately kept the knife back on the counter. She nervously smiled at Camila who looked at her with an annoyed expression on her face.
"Sorry Camila, could you repeat your question?" she smiled as though she wasn't thinking about potential murder. Camila shot her an irritable expression but then calmed down and said, "I was asking you if you wanted to join us for a drink, we're going after work."
Yor glanced at Millie and Shaaron who gave her expectant glances, Millie was nearly bouncing with eagerness. Out of the four of them, she was the most youthful. Yor nodded gently, "I suppose so, but I'll have to go early, Yuri said it's not safe to remain outside for too long in the evening."
"That's alright, Dominic said the same thing to me too–" Camila said, turning bashful at the mention of her husband. A small chuckle slipped from Yor's lips, how adorable Camila looked at the mention of her husband.
Then her heart started feeling heavy as she remembered hers.
Well, it's not like he was hers to begin with. It was too good to be true.
Ah well, Yor smiled a little to herself, At Least I still have family.
Yes, Anya was all she needed, her dear precious daughter.
And Yuri too.
Everyone then dispersed and went back to their duties and by then, the kettle had begun to whistle sweetly, meaning the water was fully boiled. Yor turned off the stove and poured a cup of golden tea for her higher ups.
She started to recall those days when she used to make hot coco for Anya and tea for herself and Loid. Yor shook her head, embarrassed that she was still thinking about a man who had moved on. A man, who wasn't even named Loid.
She took the tray and headed towards the meeting room.
Yor was a clerk working in Berlint City Hall by day, and then she was an assassin by night. (If it wasn't already clear enough for our readers)
Her deep set of red eyes and long legs made everyone else think otherwise. It was upsetting, upsetting that she had to put up with such objectification of herself, but she knew deep down that it would be strange if everyone except her was murdered in City Hall.
Besides, if she ended up in prison, Yuri would be miserable.
Yor started thinking about her childhood memories with Yuri. How smart he had been, studious and adorable.
Somewhere in across Berlint City, at the HQ of the SSS. Yuri felt his 'Sister-senses' tingling all of a sudden and Chloe had to smack the back of his head to prevent him from leaving mid interrogation because his 'sister had called'.
