A couple days later I walked downstairs to find my mom cooking. Usually it was fend for yourself for breakfast so, I was confused as to why she was cooking. "Morning," "You're cooking breakfast?" "Yeah, I thought I would today." I sit down at the bar and see she's making french toast, eggs and bacon. That's when Kamden came downstairs.
"Do I smell bacon?" "Indeed you do" my mom cheered. He sat down next to me, as my mom dished our plates. It was moments like this that I loved, I craved for these moments. No fighting, no crying, just us being a normal family. We don't get many moments like this anymore. "Your sister is coming up next week." my mom said, "Oh great, like we need more women in this house," Kamden scoffed. "Kamden" my mom snapped, but ended up laughing.
I was excited she was coming because I haven't seen her in a while. Mine and Kathrines relationship was weird, we could be each others best friends or worst enemy. I just depended on the day. Kathrine is a lot like my mom, she doesn't share her feelings ever and acts like everything is perfect all the time. Life just isn't like that.
I was washing my plate when my phone buzzed, It was a text from Jeremiah.
"Hey come swim? :)"
I smiled down at my phone and typed "Sure!"
Jeremiah's house had a pool in their backyard while ours didn't. I loved when they invited me over to swim. There is something so special about swimming in a pool compared to the ocean. I went upstairs and put on a green and white bikini. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a bikini last summer I was here, but I came around to them.
I walked over to their house. I heard people talking so I just went straight to their backyard. "Kirsten!" Belly cheered as she saw me. "Hey!" I said and set my stuff down on a lounge chair. I looked around and saw Conrad and who I assume to be Nicole. They were sitting on the edge of the pool and Belly and Steven were in the pool. "What are you guys doing?" I asked. Before anyone could answer Jeremiah came out of no where sprinting towards me and tackled me into the pool. The water was cold at first but I quickly adapted. I resurfaced and took a breath. Jeremiah came up and flipped his hair out of his face, he was laughing.
"That was a rude hello" I said. "Well hello" he laughed and began to swim over to Belly and Steven. My eyes were drawn to his back, his muscles moved in such an attractive way while he swam. I shook out of it and swam over to them as well. "It's okay Kirst they do that to me all the time" Belly said annoyed. "Yeah because it's funny as hell" Steven said. "We will see you guys later." Conrad said taking Nicole by the hand and leading her inside. "What's going on with them?" I whispered so they couldn't hear me. "Who knows," Steven said, Belly got out of the pool and sat on the edge, I swam over to do the same. "He claims he likes her but he switches up everyday," Jeremiah said. I lifted myself onto the edge of the pool by Belly. I looked over at Jeremiah and he was staring at me, when he realized I noticed he looked away.
"Hey speaking of Nicole," Jeremiah started, "She's having a party on Saturday and you have to come." He said to me. "Why do I have to?" I said playfully. "Because it will be so fun" I eyed him, "Kirsten cmon!" he whined. "Okay okay, I'll go."
Me and Belly had moved to lounge chairs to tan while the boys messed around in the pool. I was watching Jeremiah pretty much the whole time. I couldn't help myself. That's when I noticed Belly was really quiet. "Hey you okay?" "Yeah, it's just the boys never invite me to go to parties with them." I felt bad, Jeremiah asked me to go right in front of her. "Why don't you just go?" "I don't know, the boys would think that it's weird." "So? Who cares, why don't you come with me?" "Really?" she said sitting up. "Yeah, we could even get ready together." I suggested. Belly nearly flew out of her chair. "Are you serious!" I laughed, "Yeah let's do it." She began to freak out.
Jeremiah and Steven swam over to us. "What are you two talking about?" Steven asked, "Nothing! Girl talk." Belly said. "Oh great...Jere let's go in and play some video games." "Alright" Jeremiah answered. "Oh! That reminds me" Belly started getting my attention. "We still need to finish our talk from the other night." "You're right" I remembered. "You were starting to tell me about Wyatt." "Whose Wyatt?" Jeremiah said jealously getting out of pool by us. "Jere this is girl talk" Belly said. "I can't know?" "No way because you're a boy" Belly said getting angry. "Why?" Jeremiah was standing in front of us now, my eyes were glued to his abs. This is the first time I have seen them up close. I was mesmerized by them. I wanted to run my hands along them. "Because" Belly said shaking me out of my trance. "Sorry Jere maybe next time." I said smiling. "Fine, I didn't want to know anyway." He said jokingly and walked inside.

Me and Belly were getting ready for the party. "I have no idea what to wear" She said looking through some clothes she had brought over. "What do you even wear to a party?" "You can wear whatever you want. I would wear something that makes you feel confident." "Noted." "You can look through my closet if you want" I said, knowing she would love that. "You are truly the best" She said running over to my closet.
We arrived at Nicoles house and it was extremely crowded. "Okay are you ready?" I said to Belly. "Yeah," I could tell she was nervous. "Don't be nervous, you look hot." I said trying to make her feel better. We made our way inside and the smell of alcohol and sweat immediately hit my nose. Not a good combination. "Okay, some basic party rules, one, don't drink anything anyone gives you, always make the drink yourself." Belly nodded, "Two, always lock the door when you are going to the bathroom and-" "Belly?!" Me and Belly turned to see who just said her name.
It was Conrad.
