Jeremiahs POV
"Don't be late!" My mom shouted at me while walking out the door. It's the day of Laurels book signing and my mom was just leaving. I was in my room looking at myself in the mirror. I had on an all black suit, I'm not gonna lie, I look good. I had to look my absolute best because I was picking up Kirsten.
I have been constantly telling myself this summer that I cannot have feelings for her. We have to be just friends and I love being her friend. Recently that has been a very hard thing to do.
I walk downstairs and see Conrad, "Hey," I greeted. Conrad didn't say anything. I shook my head, I shouldn't have expected so much from Conrad. That's when Steven came inside from the backyard. "Damn! My boys are looking good!" He cheered, "Not as good as you!" I said pointing at him. "I'll see you guys there," Conrad said grabbing his jacket and walking out the door.
"So, are you taking anyone tonight?" I asked Steven. "I am actually" "Wait really, who?" "Shayla" "No way" "I know I can barely believe it" We shared a laugh. "What about you?" "I'm bringing Kirsten."
"Dude," "What?" "Kirsten Stark? Like the girl who is over here all the time?" "Yeah...what's wrong with that?" He smirked at me. "You like her." "I do not, we are just really great friends." "Oh yeah, I've heard that before." "Hey look at the time. I have to go!" I said trying to avoid this conversation. Steven laughed, "Okay I'll see you there."
I pull up to Kirsten's house a nervous wreck. Why am I so nervous to see her? I see her all the time. I walk up to their door and ring the doorbell. Her mom opened the door, "Oh! Jeremiah you look so handsome!" She said inviting me in. "Thank you Mrs Stark." "I'll go get Kirsten." She said walking up the stairs.
My heart began beating super fast. I looked down at my hands, which were sweating, when she said, "Hey Jere." I looked up and she was walking down the stairs. All I could do was stare at her. I was in complete awe of her, she looked incredible.
She was wearing a black dress that hugged her waist and hips perfectly, it had a slit starting on her right mid-thigh. I looked her up and down taking her all in. I wanted to grab her and kiss her right here. "Jere?" she said staring up at me. "You look absolutely amazing," I said grabbing her hand and spinning her.
"You don't look too bad yourself." All I could do was smile at her. "Shall we go?" She said bringing me out of my trance. "Lets," She walked past me and out the door. I let out a shaky breath, even her voice has an effect on me.
I held onto the small of her back while we walked to my jeep. I opened the door for her, "Why thank you," She said getting in. "My pleasure."

We got to the clubhouse, which was where the book signing was being held. "We should take a picture when we get in." She said, "That is a great idea...Oh! That reminds me!" I said reaching in the back seat and pulling out a small box. "For you," I said handing it to her. She flashed me a confused look. "You got me something?" I shrugged. She opened it to reveal a new phone.
"Jeremiah! I can't take this!" "You have too, I'm the reason you don't have a phone in the first place." "You are crazy! How much was this?" "It doesn't matter." "No way, Jere I cannot accept this." She said handing it back to me, I shoved it back her way. "No you have to keep it so I can call you." A smile lit up her face. "Are you sure?" "100 percent" She pulled me into a hug. I loved her being in my arms, I could hold her all day. "Thank you so much Jere." "Of course...let's go in."
As we were walking into the clubhouse I had ahold of Kirsten's hand. I wanted everyone to know that she was here with me. It wasn't too crowded but it was very fancy, I had never seen the clubhouse like this before.
"What are we supposed to do at these?" Kirsten asked me, "I have no idea," I respond. I guided our way over to where Steven was. "Hey guys!" Kirsten greeted, "Hey!" Shayla and Steven said in unison. I sat down next to Steven while Kirsten and Shayla talked. I didn't even want to talk to Steven I just kept admiring Kirsten, every feature of hers was perfect. I was excited to have Kirsten here this summer but I didn't realize she's all I would think about.
The four of us started a conversation and I found myself shifting from my hand resting on her thigh or my arm around the back of her chair. I felt like I had to be touching Kirsten in some way or I would go crazy.
Kirsten leans over to me, "I'm going to go talk with your mom and Laurel, I'll be right back." I nodded watching her walk away, I would have kept watching her if it wasn't for Steven hitting my arm.
"What was that for?" "You are a big fat liar" "What are you talking about?" "We are just friends my ass." "We are!" I defended. "You haven't been able to keep your hands off her all night." "Yeah Jere, you've basically been undressing her with your eyes," Shayla piped in. "Guys nothing is going on!" "You like her though, admit it." Steven stated, I stared between him and Shayla trying to decide what to say next.
"I mean-" "He so does!" Shayla gushed. "Okay, okay maybe I have a little crush. I mean she's funny, and beautiful how can you not?" Shayla squealed, "You two have to get together!" "No, no I don't think she wants anything, we are just friends." "She might, you never know" Steven said.
Before I could respond Conrad sat down with us, "This sucks." "Looks like Mr. positive decided to join us." I said. He glared at me. "I agree, this party is lame." Steven said. Then Kirsten was sitting back down. I all of a sudden felt embarrassed, I just confessed that I like Kirsten to Steven and Shayla and now I have to act like everything is normal.
"How was my mom?" I asked her. "She is good, Laurel is getting a lot of good publicity." "Oh great that is just what my mother needs" Steven said sarcastically.
Me and Kirsten spent the last couple minutes setting up her new phone. I couldn't help but smile, she was so excited. I loved that I was the one who made her excited.
"Okay lets take a picture!" She said pulling me up. We stood up and she handed her phone to Shayla. I put my arm around her and she leaned into me and put her hand on my chest. My heart started beating really fast and I was hoping that she couldn't feel it.
"Okay say cheese!" Shayla said taking a bunch of pictures. "Lets see em!" Kirsten said removing her hand and walking over to Shayla. I took a deep breath and noticed Steven smirking at me. I shook my head and rolled my eyes.
"Hey where's Belly?" Conrad asked. "I think she's on a date" Kirsten said while looking at the pictures with Shayla. "A date? My sister?" Steven questioned. "Yeah, some Cam guy." A smile crept onto Conrad's face. "Guys, I have an idea."
