Jeremiah's POV
Here we are driving to the drive-in because that is where Belly is. Conrad had the great idea of spying on them. I didn't agree with their plan but here I am. Shayla didn't want to come so she stayed behind. Steven is driving with Conrad in the passenger seat and me and Kirsten, who I basically forced to come with us, in the back.
"Guys you have to promise me that you won't ruin her date." Kirsten said moving over to the middle seat and sticking her head between Conrad and Steven. "Kirsten chill we're just going to spy, right Con?" "Yeah, totally" They both snicker. Kirsten hit Conrad on the arm. "If you guys mess this up I was not involved." She said leaning back against her seat. "Deal," Conrad said.
I stayed quiet for most of the ride because in all honesty all I could think about was how Kirsten's was sitting right up against me. We pull into the drive-in and Steven parks. "Okay, let's go" Conrad said. "Yes! This is going to be so fun," Steven cheered.
"I'm staying in the car." Kirsten said. "Fine, be lame" Steven said, "I will" Kirsten snarked and then they both mocked each other. "C'mon Jere," "I'm staying too," I said. "Are you serious?" "Yeah, you guys go," "Bro come on," "Let him stay Steve." Conrad said flatly. Steven nodded and then him and Conrad ran off.
"You could have went you know." Kirsten said. "I'm not going to let you stay alone in a car at night." Kirsten smiled, a smile that could make me melt. It got quiet. I felt like there was a tension between us and I didn't know how to break it. I was lost in my thoughts thinking about what Shayla and Steven said.
Maybe that's why I'm incredibly nervous right now. Is she thinking that same thing I am? I all of a sudden was very aware of my body and where Kirsten was touching me. "You know what's weird?" She said bringing me back to reality. "What?" I said keeping my head straight because if I look at her I will explode.
"You probably are one of the only people who know almost everything about me and I only see you three out of the twelve months." I smile, "I have that effect on people." I finally turned my head to look at her, she playfully rolled her eyes. "Okay, calm down," We shared a laugh.
"I agree with you though," I said. "Hmm?" "You know more about me than anyone else does." "Really?" "Yup," "Why do I find that hard to believe?" "It's true!" "The Jeremiah Fisher, the biggest heartthrob in Cousins?" "You know you're my favorite girl." She stared down at her lap smiling.
"Kirsten, I have never met anyone like you." "Well, I would hope not." She said turning to face me, her face came closer to mine than I expected. We were inches apart. The tension grew again, I was staring at her and all I wanted to do was kiss her. I looked down at her lips. I needed her.
My gaze traveled back up to her eyes, hoping she didn't notice me staring at her lips. My heart started racing. It was like we were both under a trance we both slowly started to lean in. We were so close I could feel her breathing on me. I closed my eyes ready to feel her lips onto mine when the car doors opened. Me and Kirsten flew away from each other.
Conrad and Steven were laughing as they got into the car. "You should have seen the look on her face!" Steven yelled, "Couldn't have gone any better" Conrad cheered. Steven turned back to face us, "What did you guys do while we were gone?" He said staring at me like he already knew. "Nothing," We said in unison.
I was filled with anger that Steven and Conrad ruined what could have been a perfect moment. Me and Kirsten almost just kissed, is it bad that I wish we did.
A/N: Another short chapter, but I love this one. Now we know how Jere feels.
Sorry for not having them kiss but just wait until next chapter. ;)
