Poppy desperately want to get Branch's attention on her.
Branch and Poppy were cuddled up in bed one afternoon, wrapped up in each other's embrace. Poppy was snuggled up close to Branch's chest, feeling his heart beating under her head. Branch's arms were wrapped around her waist, holding her close as he ran his fingers through her hair.
Branch was currently reading a book when Poppy decided that she wanted a lot of his attention but he wasn't completely giving it to her. “Darling, I’m trying to read.” As much as he wanted to keep his face impassive, a huge grin broke onto Branch’s face as Poppy began trailing kisses along the length of his jaw. Nimble fingers then began to trace patterns over the expanse of his chest, drawing away his attention even further and further away from his book. “I can see that,” she teased, the words spilling from her lips ghosting over his skin in between kisses, “but I’ve missed you.” Branch looked over at her with a confused expression. "We live together, how can you miss me?" Branch asked. Usually they've never been apart unless if she had important work to attend to or hanging out with friends or family, but other then that they were together and by each other's side at all times.
"I can't help that I love you too much." Poppy snapped back as she lightly started playing with his hair. "I understand that,and I love you too, but you are going to have to wait until I finish reading this book." Branch replied looking smug. He didn't have to look up from his book because he already knew what her reaction would be. Poppy grabbed the book from his hands and looked at what chapter he was on. He was on chapter 5 and there was 13 more chapters to go. He wasn't going to finish the book ɓy then. She gave him back the book which luckily she didn't lose the page he was on and he was very grateful for that.
Poppy crossed her arms and pouted. "That's so unfair, you can take a break from reading! It would only take 10 minutes of your time!" He just loved messing with her. "I would but Character A is telling Character B that she knows he's a vampire, it's getting real good right now." Branch patted her head while Poppy rolled her eyes. "I can spoil what happens you know!" Poppy threatened him but he knows that she dislikes Spoilers or spoiling things for people who haven't finished books or movies. "You would never" He said fully looking at her, they stared right at each other until she looked away. "Ugh, you're right about that."
She layed there staring up at the ceiling in deep thought. Branch quietly closed his book, making sure he didn't lose his page. "Poppy." He pulled her towards him causing her to sit on his lap. "What?" She asked. He couldn't really tell if she was mad at him or not but he was going to get her even more mad for what he was about to do. His hands roamed under her dress causing Poppy to shiver completely feel his cold hands on her skin. He pulled her dress over her head and threw it across the room. She was left wearing nothing and she looked gorgeous in his opinion.
But right now he was on a mission to mess with her. Without A warning he flipped her over so that she was under him. He leaned forward so he could kiss her. He could tell that he was slowly driving her crazy. He made his was over to her cheek and kissed it. Branch could tell Poppy was desperately waiting for more. He pushed himself off of her and grabbed the book he was reading from earlier.
"I really want to know what happens next." He spoke making his way to the page he read before. Poppy sat up and turned to face him. She looked so offended by his actions. "Oh you are real funny you know that." Branch couldn't help but laugh as she playfully punched his arms.
She was also to get out of bed to get her dress back but she was stopped by Branch. He pulled her back again causing her to laugh lightly. She could never stay mad a him for too long. She looked at him happily. "What is it now?" She asked him curiously what he wanted from her now. "I guess that I should make it up to you." Branch said leaning over to kiss her.
Her leg hooks around his waist to bring him on top of her, and she delights in the feel of his firm body above her and all around her, where he belongs. He totally made it up to her in a good way. He could tell because she was glowing every time he looked over at her.
AN: I forgot First Kiss was next and did this instead. Oh well!!
