Day 16: Holidays
Poppy and Branch wake up on Christmas morning and exchange presents.
Poppy woke up in a very good mood. Her favorite time of the year was today and she couldn't wait celebrate it with the ones she loved the most, especially her fiance Branch who was sleeping next to her.
She turned to the teal troll who was peacefully sleeping. She didn't want to wake him up at the moment because he looked so cute but today was an important day so now was the time to do it. "Branch wake up, It's Christmas Day!" She said excitedly shaking him to get his attention. Branch opened his eyes sleepily and linked his leg with hers under the covers. "Hm, not now." He said tiredly closing his eyes again to sleep. Poppy rolled her eyes at her fiance and shook him awake again. "Branch wake up or I want a divorce." Poppy said hoping to get his attention. Branch opened his eyes and stared at her. "Honey, we're not even married yet." Branch said pointing out the obvious. Poppy groaned impatiently "Branch it's Christmas day we have to get up now!" Branch, who was amused by her actions decided to get up now. "Careful, Santa will put you on the naughty list if you keep that adittude." Branch joked playfully, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Alright let's go." Branch said making Poppy jump out of bed quickly running past Branch and making her way towards the living room where the Christmas tree was.
There were exactly 6 presents that were waiting to be opened. Two of the presents were for King Peppy who they would be visiting him later to give him the presents. "Come on Branch!" She squealed excitedly patting the seat next to her for him to sit down. He loved it whenever she was excited because it always put him in a good mood. "Here, Why don't you open your presents first." Branch said handing her the one right next to him. She happily took it from him shaking it to figure out what was inside. She carefully teared the wrapping paper so she can save it for one of her scrapbooks because she liked the design. Once she opened the box she was surprised to find an easy bake oven. She turned to Branch surprised. "Branch, What is this? Poppy asked looking confused. "Well, since the last three times that you baked you almost caused a fire." Branch started explaining his reasoning but was interrupted. "But why do I need this?" Poppy asked. Branch stared blankly at her. "You lost your kitchen privileges so I got you an easy bake oven." Poppy wanted to protest but decided against it.
"Whatever, Just open your present." Poppy said handing it to him. Branch did what she said and opened it only to find matching sets of Pajamas. "Wow, matching sets of Pajamas?" Branch didn't really know what he was expecting but he wasn't really surprised. "I love it Poppy." Branch said smiling softly at her. "You're welcome sweetie." Poppy said extremely satisfied with his gift.
She was then handed another gift but it was much smaller than the other one she got so she couldn't figure out what was in it. Branch encouraged her to open it and see what was inside. Once she opened it she was a hug time bracelet with carved with Branch's initial on it. Poppy always wanted that. "Oh Branch, it's really beautiful." She squealed happily. Branch ended up putting it on for her and it fit perfectly on her wrist. "Now I have to make one for you." Poppy said while admiring the bracelet on her wrist." Branch refused that offer. "No, I wanted you to have something special." Poppy frowned at his response. Branch sighed. "Poppy I don't need anything special because marrying you is just what I want." She was satisfied with that answer.
"Merry Christmas Branch." Poppy said giving him a warm hug which he accepted. "Merry Christmas Poppy, I love you." Branch said giving her a sweet kiss like in one of those cheesy Christmas hallmark movies. Poppy pulled away ready to say something. "Remember not to long ago you said that Santa was going to put me on the naughty list?" Poppy asked. Branch thought back to when he said that. "Yeah, What about it?" Branch asked her curiously. Poppy leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Want to help me get on Santa's naughty list this year?" Poppy suddenly asked trying to tempt him. Branch nodded his head, quickly getting up from the floor and picked up Poppy and headed straight to their room enjoying the rest of their Christmas morning together.
