Poppy is in a talkative mood and Branch is just here for moral support.
Branch had volunteered to make dinner for tonight because the pink pop troll queen was in a middle of a story that, for her needed to be talked about as soon as she came home from her day.
So now he had to listen while she talked about her interesting day that happened not too long ago. "It turns out he didn't even know that he was getting his costume resized but everyone else knew." Poppy ranted as she was talking about the upcoming musical play that she and Floyd happened to both star in.
Poppy was obviously having a real good time because she's been in so many and it's nothing new for her. Branch frowned a bit about his brother's situation. He heard from Floyd about how hard being in theater was for him and how he didn't know that he was going to get cut out after three day.
Poppy did ask around and they told him that "He wasn't a true theater kid through and through." Which he and his brothers thought was outrageous.
They wanted to ask Poppy to help him out but Floyd didn't want to bother her. Branch asked her to do something about it privately but she turned him down because "It wasn't her problem to deal with." It's true, just because she's Queen doesn't mean that she wants to solve everyone's problems. But he wished she could.
"Branch the oven is beeping!" Poppy yelled getting his attention. The teal blue troll quickly turned off the timer and open the oven so he could take out the baked food that was cooking in there. "Thanks Poppy you're a lifesaver." He responded looking at her while she happily smiled at him. "Yeah, you love me for it!" Poppy replied at his compliment basically joking that he could never live without her.
He playfully rolled his eyes as he checked to see if the food was good. But he didn't even notice her coming up from behind him to hug him. He freaked out about it. "Poppy you could burn yourself!" Branch panicked even though she knows how to use a kitchen. Except for the time that she had almost burned down the kitchen bunker resulting him to get her an easy bake oven so she could earn back her privileges for the kitchen. He had to admit how proud he was of her when she was able to cook in the kitchen again.
Poppy scoffed a bit, "Come on Branch I'm fine.!" Poppy replied by kissing his cheek resulting in Branch to look very calm. Poppy spoke up again, "Did I ever tell you how Guy Diamond....
At this point Branch was partially listening to what she was talking about, he was just too distracted by her shiny lips. Her lips were very magical and good at everything. Branch blushed a bit by his thoughts but to him it was true.
He took a deep breath as he held her arms. Grabbing her face and cupping her cheeks with his hands he pulled her into a hungry, almost ravenous kiss. He of course, took her by surprise, but it wasn’t unexpected at this point. He didn't wait for her to kiss back but he pulled away smiling at her while she was completely caught off guard by his actions.
"Branch!" Poppy replied. Branch raised an eyebrow in response. Before he can ask what was wrong she grabs his face and kisses him. “I just had to,” she murmurs against his lips and he can relate.
Oh yes, he can relate very well. He was very lucky that he gets to have dinner with the most perfect troll that he loved in the entire universe.
