Just before they reached the edge, Jeremy turned towards the bridge before saying"Relax, why would I hurt you... it's just the stupid path to the bridge goes super closer to the lake before it curves and heads towards the bridge". She breathed a sigh of relief and said"Oh" Jeremy smiled and said, "I brought you out here because you need fresh air and I thought that seeing the wildlife would help". He smiled and said, "Whenever I'm stressed I come out by the pond and watch the frogs jump and the butterflies and birds fly around... it's just so relaxing to hear the sounds of the ecosystem too".
As fast as he quit speaking, Elaenna saw the frogs hop, the fish flop up to the surface, and the gentle sounds of the water and it really did relax her. In fact, she lowered her guard so much that she sighed and said"Does a person like me really deserve to witness beauty like this". Jeremy looked at her and said"What makes you say that for?" and she blushed and said, "Y-you weren't supposed to hear that...j-just ignore it". He grabbed her hand and smiled before saying"How can I ignore something that has so obviously been bothering you?" She sighed and said "Forget it" and he said, "We'll sit here until you relax enough to tell me then".
Elaenna gave in and said"Late last night I went through my phone and pulled what I could and from what I saw... it sounds like I was a horrible person. All I did was look down on and abuse men and it looks like not a lot of people liked me...I-I'm scared of remembering...I don't wanna become that mean girl again. I'm starting to feel like maybe I should've died...I mean it would be better than becoming that evil girl". Jeremy cupped her cheek and said, "Don't talk like that, and don't be afraid of turning into her again anymore because even if you do, you're now aware of the true nature of your old personality and I'm sure you'll work on keeping some of the old and forming a new one...self-improvement starts with a look in the mirror".
He continued and said, "I'm sure you had a reason for being that way...you probably have some unresolved pain that you've been carrying...something you need to face before you can become a better person and as long as you're alive, you have a chance to improve, so stay alive".Elaenna blushed hard before grabbing his collar and pulling him into a kiss, afterwards, she turned her chair and pushed herself back in as if she were pushing for her life. Jeremy stood there in a daze, partly because it was his first-ever kiss on the lips and because of the simple fact that he liked it.
As he continued to stand there, his heart began to pound and his knees felt funny, he began picturing her beautiful smile he saw last night and it made him feel this warmth in his heart that he hadn't felt since his mother kissed him goodbye on her death bed with a smile. He shook it off as jitteriness from having his first kiss with a beautiful girl and headed back inside. Elaenna on the other hand, was freaking out in her room because she didn't understand why she did it...sure he said some things that really warmed her heart but she felt that it didn't mean she should go crazy and kiss him. He was a wonderful, handsome guy and she was glad to be in his care but she was nervous that her actions might've ruined the dynamic permanently.
On top of that, her heart was also beating fast and she was feeling aroused and hungry for his companionship and a few other emotions that she couldn't really process. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door and Jeremy opening it, with a tray in his hand. He smiled and said, "Eat up, after this, we're heading to the gym to begin your therapy sessions". She nodded and took the tray before breathing a sigh of relief. He seemed just fine and in truth, he brushed it off and saw it as her being confused by so much, which wasn't that far from the truth. However, one thing Elaenna did know, was that him agreeing to accept her no matter what was very comforting and heartwarming to hear in her world of coldness which was beginning to warm up.
After eating her food, she got up, wheeled herself into her bathroom, and showered using the bench. Once finished, she dried her hair, got dressed, and left her room where Jeremy was waiting. He smiled and said"Ready to go?" and she said "Yes" with a smile. She didn't know what tomorrow would bring or who she'd become if she ever got her memories back but she was sure of one thing and it was that she was going to work on herself. The best place for her to start was getting her mobility back and then start trying to figure out who she was and what she should be doing.
Jeremy locked the room door and wheeled her down the long hall and around a corner to an elevator which took them down to the basement. They went down another hall that was nothing but concrete and plain tiles until they reached these black double doors. He pushed the button which opened the door and pushed her into this large gym that almost looked like it belonged in one of those teen romance dramas Elaenna had started watching. Jeremy wheeled her over to this padded walkway with rails on both sides. He smiled and said, "Today we'll start with some shock therapy so let's get started on the long walk to recovery".
