Third Person POV-

"Etho, you just have to catch the tennis ball. It's not going to hurt you." Joel said, trying not to laugh.

"I- "

"Just catch it!" Joel shouted, throwing the ball.

Etho gasped and jumped, catching the ball in his hands.

"Yeah! There you go!" Joel cheered.

"JOEL, THERE'S A WASP BEHIND YOU!" Etho shouted.

"AHHHHH- "

-

"I don't understand frozen yogurt." Joel said as he and Etho walked into Menchie's.

"What don't you understand?"

"It's just ice cream but worse."

"Frozen yogurt isn't too bad."

Joel shrugged and Etho paid for his cup when he noticed that Joel was putting almost every topping on his frozen yogurt.

-

"What costume do you think would look good on me?" Joel asked as he and Etho looked around in Spirit, a Halloween store that shows up in their town every October.

"Hmm..." Etho looked around and smirked, walking over and picking up a King Tut costume.

"NO."

"Come onnnnnn." Etho smirked, pushing the costume towards Joel.

Joel sighed, "Fine, but I get to pick out your costume."

"Deal."

Joel looked around and found a banana hat.

He put it on Etho's head.

"aH- "

Joel laughed as Etho fixed the hat on his head.

"How do I look?" Etho asked, smiling.

"Like a buffoon."

-

"Christmas timeeeeee is hereeeeeee." Joel sings off tune.

"It's literally the day after Halloween!"

"CHRISTMAS TIME!! JESUS DAY IS COMING!!!" Joel shouted and Etho face palmed, laughing.

-

Joel's dog, Meri, was barking loudly and running around Joel's house as fireworks went off on New Year's Eve.

Joel popped his lips, "So," He turned to Etho, "How are you doing?"

Etho chuckled, watching as Meri was barking and running in circles.

"I'm alright, you?"

"I think my eardrums died."

-

Joel and Etho went to a diner after school on Valentine's Day to get something to eat.

Joel looked around.

"You know," he said, "I forgot about Valentine's Day."

"You did?"

"Yeah...it's a crappy holiday anyway. All it does is raise the prices of chocolate and flowers."

Etho laughed, "True!"

-

"Alright, this spring break I'm going to teach you how to sail." Etho said, smiling confidently.

"Oof, good luck with that."

"It should be fine." Etho smiled.

Later-

"ETHO HOW DO I STOP?!" Joel shouted, trying to figure out how to sail.

Etho was having trouble helping Joel as he was dying from laughter.

"ETHO YOU CAN'T JUST DO THIS TO ME!"

"Stop! Stop!" Etho laughed, unable to catch his breath.

"I DON'T KNOW HOW TO!"

"NO! Stop shouting!! You're making me laugh!!"

-

Etho smiled as he walked home. It was near the end of spring break, and he was exhausted from teaching Joel how to sail.

He had to admit though, it was a lot of fun.

"Etho, dear, we have something we need to tell you."

Etho looked up at his moms, who were standing in his doorway.

"What? What is it? Is something wrong?" Etho was worried.

His mothers exchanged looks before one of them said,

"We're moving."

Alright so a lot of things happened in this chapter. It's basically a big time skip through an entire year of Etho and Joel's friendship and I thought it was cute to include little bits and pieces of funny moments they had together. I genuinely had so much fun writing this, it was so funny.

My favorite little clip is probably the one where Joel shouts 'JESUS DAY IS COMING' which I got from my sister, who calls Christmas and Easter 'the Jesus days'.
