Allaira Parisseiniviani

Allurie paced around her abode nervously, the wooden floors creaking with every step that she took. She put a hand on her head and ran it through her wavy white-blonde hair, shaking her head and breathing heavily.

"What's it you want to tell us?" I moved forward to put a comforting hand on Allurie's shoulder. "You can take your time."

"I'm just scared that I won't ever see you guys again."

"I know," I said, my voice raising unintentionally. "I know and we are too. Heck, we are the ones going through the Sheen, not you. At least you're still in Zenobia with the people you love while we are left to fend for ourselves."

"I know," Allurie sighed, "why does it have to be this way?"

I shook my head. I was angry it had to be this way. My blood was boiling but as Allurie said, it was inevitable. I'd probably be dead by now or have to writhe in sharp, deadly pain for the rest of my days. All because some being out there was trying to achieve something. What it was, I didn't know but it was making me mad because we were subjected to being puppets without any say in what decisions we made. Heck, I'd have to be away from my loving family and transported into some new realm I barely even knew enough about.

"Are you ready now?" I removed my hand from Allurie's shoulder.

Allurie smiled and walked towards a wooden table where a pile of documents, sheets, and papers lay. "I am," she said.

She gestured towards the pile. "This is everything else you'll need for your journey to Earth. You and Horizon. Horizon are you listening?"

Horizon muttered a "yes" from his comfortable position on one of Allurie's plush chairs before Allurie continued.

"First, we need to change your appearance. Allaira, your hair and eye color are pretty normal but your ears are pointed. I've bought some beauty serums from the shop that allow you to have rounder ears than fairies and humans have. You inject a portion of it into the tips of your ears and it should make it round for a week or two. I bought a lot so you don't run out." With that, Allurie handed me a box containing a few portions of serum and a sharp needle to inject the serum with; it looked painful.

Then, Allurie turned to Horizon. "But, you, Horizon, your looks will definitely draw some attention. You will share the same serum with Allaira for ear ears. Your eye color is fine, there is enough dark-blue pigment in your tanzanite violet eyes that it passes as a vibrant dark-blue shade. But your hair, you need to change it. It's a vibrant shade of blue with streaks of purple so you'll definitely stand out. I got you some permanent hair ink. It's easy to apply, when you shower, use the hair ink instead of your hair wash and rub thoroughly. Do it every time you wash your hair and you should be able to maintain normal black hair. Got it?" Horizon nodded as he took in the box of miniature soap suds.

"Second thing," Allurie picked up a book. "If you ever forget anything important about Earth or English that I've taught you, you have this book. However, this book is magicked so that only you will be able to read its true contents with skin contact with its pages. To anyone else, it'll look like the English version of our Shallngsean folk tales. It'll look like a collection of stories."

I took my book and held it so my bare fingers were touching its pages and flipped to a random page. It talked about the Earthen calendar and moon cycles which were different from ours. Then, I let go of it and the pages changed. What I read instead was a page in the Shallngsean tale of creation. I read all the words with ease, I was a polyglot after all and after a year, I could understand, speak, read, and write English perfectly. I probably wouldn't need this book for reviewing my English but it was definitely useful to review Earthen information. Horizon might need it though as he wasn't a polyglot so his speech was still jumbled at times.
