Horizon Drottisylvro
Allurie has given me and Allaira a plan to carry out. Right now, I was lying in bed, waiting for the house's TimeKeeper to tick 02:00. Allure said that we had to stay awake but that was no problem, my mind was scrambling anyway. I sure hope Allurie's genius will not fail. I hoped that our parents were still asleep. Nevertheless, Allurie had said that she'd cause some sort of distraction if the plan didn't work. She said that during dinner.
Dinner was frightening. Allaira and I had to smile through gritted teeth and lie blatantly while trying not to sweat. It was mortifying. Every second I thought that I was going to pass out. It was a relief when dinner was over and our parents and siblings announced that they would retire for the night as they were getting sleepy.
Deciding that I couldn't take lying in bed and doing nothing anymore, I decided to climb out, light a quick fire so the room was illuminated, and check what I'd packed again.
First, I examined the specialty items that Allurie had given me and Allaira, tucked in the smallest brown satchel which I would be carrying across my torso. I tiptoed, and although my parents and siblings were supposedly knocked out, I couldn't help but be careful. I gently patted the satchel and felt around. Then, I opened a slitch. The round-ear serum was still there, as were my hair-color ink, the map, and the specialty book which only Allaira and I could decipher the true meaning of. The final item that I had there was my shard of glass and special paper that I used for capturing light or what humans liked to call "photography."
When everything was accounted for, I moved onto the other much bigger sack which I would strap around my back in between my wings with a strap in the middle to secure it to my chest. This one contained all of my basic survival items, all the necessities that I'd need for a journey to Earth including apparel, toiletries, foodstuff and other specialty items.
I checked the first section which contained my apparel. I brought seven short-sleeved tops, sheer ones and fluffy ones, ones that looked drab and ones that looked splendid. I brought seven pairs of long trousers, thin ones, thick ones, loose ones and tight cinching ones. Then, I decided to bring along four longer-sleeved tops, plain ones, decorative ones full of designs, ones that had buttons and ones with pockets. I had my two coats as well, a papery thin one for warmer weather and a thick one for the colder weather. Finally, I shoved in eight pairs of undergarments and an extra pair of plain black boots. I decided to keep the hideous but warm top that Allurie had told me to wear, as well as some dark camouflage green trousers. Of course, I also had undergarments underneath and a coat over my top as the seasons were different on Earth.
Then, I checked the second and third sections. All of my hygiene serums and brushes were there. The one for my teeth, my hair, my ears, my face, my hands, and my body. And things for my bodily fluids and excretory systems as well. There were also packages of food and water. Simple nutritious bars that gave you lots of energy, a roll of crushed fruits, and some pills that gave you ample amounts of nutrients.
On a whim, I decided to grab some writing utensils and a book filled with blank sheets of paper and shove it in my bag before zipping it up. I checked to see if my portable lamp was on my bedside table before blowing out the flame and encasing my room in darkness.
I wished my room a farewell before climbing back into bed. Now, all I could do was wait for the clock to strike 02:00....
In what seemed like an eternity, the clock finally gave 24 chimes indicating that it was 02:00. I slung my small satchel across my torso, unfolded my wings, and put the large sack in my bag. The heaviness of the sack almost made me tip forward. I grabbed my portable light and opened my bedroom door. As I headed to the front of the house, I blew a kiss to each of my parents' and siblings' rooms. I was going to miss them dearly.
