"Alexa!" I started to call out before remembering that she was angry with me.

Deflated, I snapped my computer shut and deflated. There were some incredible photos of birds that I'd taken the other day that I'd just finished editing and I wanted to show them to Allaira. But she was still frustrated with me for spilling her secret so she barely spared me a glance.

I mean, this week was better than the previous week. Allaira had placed 2nd in her track meet for the 1,500 meters and got a shiny circular object held together by a ribbon called a medal. That'd certainly boosted her mood more. She'd also reflected on things and done some research on the Sheen and something called portals. I saw her notes and papers stern around in our shared bedroom with Gillian.

That had certainly boosted her mood enough that she could look me in the eye like a normal person these past few days instead of glaring at me. She'd even acknowledged me at school and she invited me to sit with her and her classmate and track teammate as well. Although, that didn't prevent the tension between us caused by my "betrayal" and my telling Isla and Jasper the truth about me and Allaira.

Believe me when I said that I didn't have a choice. I was forced to talk to them by this powerful creature named Cassie who was quite intent on keeping me and Allaira on Earth for some unknown reason. This creature was also intent on us being friends with Jasper and Isla? I didn't understand what their intentions were but I knew that if I didn't tell them, I'd probably die of suffocating pain by now.

I was infuriated with Cassie. They had ruined my life and Allaira's life. Why did we have to be torn away from our families and our house? Why did they have to sabotage my friendship with Allaira by forcing me to tell Isla and Jasper the truth?

I slouched down on the desk and sighed aloud, accidentally saying: "I miss them and all I want to do is to go home," in the common tongue of Shallngsea.

"Me too," a voice called out beside me in English.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw who that voice belonged to. It was Allaira. It seemed that she had wanted to talk to me after all as she didn't just leave, instead, she sat on the foot of one of the beds and gazed at me curiously, waiting for me to say something.

"Do you want to take a look at my photos?" I asked Allaira in the Shallngsean common tongue, my voice was bright and hopeful.

Allaira let out a puff of air and switched to the common tongue as well. "Sure thing," extending her arm, and gesturing for me to show her the images. "It's okay if we talk in the Shallngsean common tongue here with Fleur and Gillian since they know the truth but we do need to be careful when we're outside, okay? Anyway, show me the images."

A smile stretched on my face as I clicked open the computer and shoved it towards her. I watched her expression in awe as she glanced at my images, her eyes wide and her mouth agape. Once, she even covered her mouth with her hand in astonishment.

"These are really amazing," Allaira remarked, "how did you manage to capture all this detail and color?"

The smile that formed on my face was so big that the entirety of the Earth couldn't contain it. "Practice," I answered, "I had a lot more time because you were angry with me and Jasper and Isla still needed to process things so I couldn't talk to them as well."

"I'm not sorry for being mad at you," Allaira placed the laptop back on my desk. "And for the record, I'm still quite angry with you. You betrayed me by telling one of our biggest secrets without talking to me first. I mean, I would've said no but I would've been less angry if you talked to me first. And I would've been even less angry if you'd just talked for yourself instead of dragging me in."
