Allurie sat in a perch on a small wooden stool, bending down and glancing at various objects. She swung her long legs to the other side and almost tipped over, catching herself by flailing her arms into the air.
She glanced over at Alleana who lay in bed, her condition worsening by the second. She walked over and took in Alleana's face: it was bright orange, a sign that all of her blood was rushing to her face to give her some relief as she healed.
The other day, Alleana overexerted her energy trying to re-manipulate her parents' mind when Allurie had accidentally let something slip during dinner. Allurie blamed it on herself because if she had been more alert, then Alleana wouldn't be sick right now.
Allurie grabbed a trunk from under the bed and flipped it open. She rummaged through it before finding a tiny vial of purple liquid. She held it up by the light to make sure that she'd grabbed the right vial and when she confirmed that, she held it out to Alleana.
"Hopefully this should work," Allurie muttered under her breath.
The previous vials, spells and serums that Allurie tried hadn't done anything to reverse Alleana's conversation. Allurie needed Alleana to heal quickly since the facade was fading by the second and if Alleana didn't cast another spell, everyone would figure out the truth.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Alleana mumbled weakly. "Isn't that super rare and difficult to make as well?"
"We don't have any options," Allurie sighed. "Just drink it."
Alleana knew that, so she didn't bother to argue with Allurie as she took the vial, uncapped it, tipped Alleana's head back and forced her to drink it.
"I'll check on you after a while," Alluire capped the empty vial and shoved the trunk back under the bed. "Hopefully, it'll work."
Cisco gave Saffron a smack in the hand while Reverie sighed in all her nine annums. The three youngest Drottisylvro siblings were busy engaging in a game of some sort while their parents were busy chatting. Reverie paused, holding an ornament with her small, dark-skinned hands, narrowing her petite, teal eyes at Cisco, the second eldest youngster in the residence.
Cisco tried to wrack his head as a sudden rush of memories flooded his head. He dropped his game piece and widened his light eyes. He hadn't seen his older brother in at least a season. Was his older brother dead?
Cisco blinked then nudged Reverie, giving her a look. Reverie sighed and dropped her game pieces, sweeping them to the side to clean up later with Cisco, since it was his idea to play this game. Saffron caught on and dropped his pieces on the polished table, hopping down from his seat with a hobble to catch up to his two older siblings, following them to the common room.
"I guess I win the game this time?" Saffron stated, more of a question than a statement.
Cisco ignored him as he marched to his parents. Relas, the father, and Stelara, the mother, paused their conversation immediately when they saw their three children standing there, concerned expressions on their faces.
A spark of memory had tickled Stellara's mind, as she noticed that her fourth child was not there. "Have you guys seen Horizon?" Stelara asked.
When each of the three children shook their heads, Stelara turned to look at her partner. "Have you?" she asked.
"No, I haven't," Relas answered.
How could no one notice that Horizon was gone for at least a season which was a quarter of an annum? There was no one capable of manipulating them unless...
Allurie opened the door, taking in Stelara's furious face. "Did you manipulate us?" Stelara roared.
"I—" Allurie quickly ran to Alleana's bedroom as Stelara stormed into the house in a mad fury.
"Alleana!" Allurie screamed. "They know!"
"What now?" Alleana asked weakly.
Allurie didn't answer and instead just paced around the room frantically. When she calmed down, she locked the door and sat at the edge of the bed. She'd have to contact Fleur. That much she knew for sure.
Fleur! Are you there! Allurie hollered.
Yes? What's wrong?
Our facade faded! Alleana's sick! Alluries thoughts were frantic and rushed.
"Open the door!" screeched the voice of Alleana and Allurie's mother, Ruania.
Allurie covered her ears and bowed her head protectively. My mom's calling me, Allurie communicated to Fleur. Stay here, I'll be back in a moment.
Should I be worried? Fleur's voice called back.
Yes! From the looks of it we'll be coming to Earth! Allurie shot back as she cautiously opened the door.
"Explain everything to us!" Ruania called out once Allurie pulled the door open.
Allurie followed Ruania into the living room where everyone was seated and glaring at her intently. The parents and the children.
So Allurie took a deep breath and explained everything to the best of her ability from Fleur to Cassie to how she couldn't prevent what happened from happening. When she finished, she could tell that the parents wouldn't have believed her if not for Ruania's ability to detect lies.
"Here's what we're going to do," Lenniex, Allurie's dad, called out, "we're going to get them and come back. If they're alive, they probably figured out something by now so it shouldn't take too long or be too difficult to retrieve them."
This time, it was Allurie's turn to raise an eyebrow skeptical. "Are you sure you want to do that?" she asked but decided not to press it further.
"Yes" Stelara snapped and Allurie could tell that everyone was set on it.
"Good," Relas clapped his hands together, "then pack your bags because we're leaving tomorrow."
