"I don't know." I shrug resting my head on the back of my couch. "I haven't been in the mood to go out."
"Come on." Annalise prods. "It'll be fun. I promise and if you don't like it and you're completely miserable, we don't ever have to go out again."
I had met Annalise at Starbucks in the airport after I landed here in New York. She said she noticed my gloomy mood and she paid for my coffee. Two weeks later and it's like we've been best friends for years. Annalise was your typical white girl. Long blonde hair. Piercing baby blues. She tall, at least taller then I am. She was a cheer captain in high school and is still with her quarterback boyfriend. But I like her. She isn't as stuck up as you'd think. Were complete opposites but I think that's what makes us so close.
"Fine." I stand up hastily. "But I'm getting shit faced." I tell her before walking to our shared bedroom.
After a day of getting to know each other I offered for her to move in. I was broke and didn't want to rely on Liz and Andrew so Annalise and I split everything down the middle. I dress in my tightest black skinny jeans and my tightest black crop top. I say dress as if you're showing off your soul. Blackest of the black for me. I trace on thick eyeliner and wand my hair loosely. After smearing on red lipstick, I decide I'm satisfied aside from the scar on my forehead and slip into my vans.
"Damn." Annalise raises an eyebrow smirking.
"Yeah yeah." I roll my eyes. "Let's just go please."
The club parking lot was beyond packed and we park nearly three blocks away. Arm an arm, we walk to the forming line. Thankfully the bouncer moves through person quickly.
"Miss Annalise!" The tall blonde guy almost squeals.
"Everest!" She says with enthusiasm before engulfing him in a hug.
"This is Wylie, my roommate." Annalise sends me a wink.
"Uh, hi." I smile.
"Hello beautiful." He takes my hand and kisses it softly. I pull it away quickly.
"I need to use the bathroom." I exclaim before racing into the club and quickly finding a bathroom.
My heart beats a million times per second. My knees feel as though they're going to buckle. I try to regain my breath and hang my head in front of the mirror as I grip the sides of the sink. Someone clears their throat as I look up, glaring into the mirror. My eyes immediately widen at the sight.
"Michael? Calum?" I turn around quickly throwing myself at them both.
"We missed you!" Michael exclaims.
"How did you know I'd be here?" I pull away.
"We met Annalise about a week ago. She's a talker." Michael laughs.
"Once we said your name she knew you. Said you two were rooming together." Calum adds.
"We requested her to keep tabs on you." Michael chuckles. "You look better."
"A little skinny." Calum examines me up and down. "We'll take you out to lunch and dinner tomorrow." He smiles widely.
"Haven't had much of an apatite." I defend. "And that sounds perfect but where's ash?"
"They needed him to record drums." Michael says. A girl walks in eyeballing Michael an Calum.
"This is the girls bathroom." She slurs.
"Danny Deveto I love your work!" Calum screams before chasing her out of the bathroom.
I burst of laughing. "You did not just quote Mean Girls." I cover my mouth.
"It's a classic." Calum shrugs with a goofy smile.
"Let's go get you drunk." Michael giggles.
"Fifty dollars and I can drink you both under the table." I challenge as we walk out of the bathroom.
"Deal!" They both exclaim before we stride to the bar.
"My good sir!" Michael gets a bartenders attention. "Us three have made a bet and we need a supervisor."
"I will supervise." He chuckles. "What are we talking here?"
"If she can out drink us, then we have to give her fifty dollars, if we win..." He trails off looking at Calum, the both nod and smiles fall on their faces "if we win she has to talk to her ex."
My stomach drops to my feet. I mean, I was confident that I could win this bet but there was also a small chance I'd lose. Luke hasn't even crossed my mind side we've gotten here. Granted, that's only been maybe fifteen minutes but that's good. I can't admit defeat.
"Done deal. Consider yourselves fifty dollars poorer." I smirk as best I can.
We all agree on shots of vodka which took twenty minutes of arguing to decide on. The bartender, whose name is Conner, pours each round at the same time and counts to three each time encore we tilt the shots back. After an hour and maybe thirty shots later, Calum passes out and the bartender helped Michael prop him up on a stool and the counter. Michael wasn't much of a lightweight like I thought he was.
"Your..." Michael slurs burping. "Gonna lose." He takes another shot and so do I.
"I think..." I wobble a little and lose my balance but someone catches me.
"Are you done?" Michael has a huge smirk on his face while I struggle to keep my eyes open. I nod feeling defeated and overly intoxicated.
"Take her home Luke." Michael mumbles and passes out I the bar counter.
"Wha?" I look behind me to see luck holding me up and smiling.
"Let's go."
"Annalise." I mumble as he picks me up bridal style and starts walking through the sea of people.
"She's gonna take care of Michael and Calum." He yells over the blaring music.
I pass out before we even get to the car.•••••
