Waking up, I sit up from my bed and stretch my arms upwards, my eyes opening with great effort. As much as I wanted to stay sleeping, I needed to get to uni. My hand reaches out for my clothes. Once I grabbed my clothes, I stood up out of bed and immediately started changing. My attire consisted of a t-shirt, jeans and shoes.
After changing, I began to look for my bag, but noticed it wasn't here. Making sure I didn't miss anything, I checked under the bed, the cupboards and the desk area. Still no sign of my bag. Turning to the window, I opened the curtain and still no sign of my bag. I was about to turn away, but I immediately noticed something wrong. I wasn't in the city anymore.
The house I was in stood in foreign plains. Large green fields spread out and I swore I could've seen a giant city out in the distance. But I wasn't too confused until I looked up at the sky. All the stars were different! Yet they somehow seemed familiar, like I've seen them before...
Mutasim: What is this...?
I muttered under my breath. Curious to learn more, I left the house and walked out. Everything felt normal, the air seemed no different but the sights... It was all too different and familiar at the same time. How did that make sense? I walked to the edge of the cliff and knelt down, taking a closer look at the distant city. It was far larger than most cities and it seemed more advanced.
It took me a little while to connect the dots, but when I did, I quickly realised where I was.
Mutasim: I'M ON REACH?!
I couldn't help but scream that out, my surprise taking a hold of me. Judging from the city still standing and no Covenant ships in the air, I guessed this was before the events of the game. While the thought was kinda scary, I couldn't help but be excited that my childhood wish finally came true! I was finally in the Halo universe! Though... There's some problems that'll come with this now. For starters, I'm a civilian with no combat experience and I'm on Reach which gets glassed and overwhelmed by the Covenant. Oh boy... I really should have put more thought into this wish when I was younger.
I turned away from the cliff and began to explore the plains I was on. Though there was still the lingering question of how I even got here in the first place. I mean, how many people just fall asleep and then find themselves in a video game universe?
Looking back at the house, I notice my motorbike was still beside it, making me smile a little.
Mutasim: That'll help cover more ground.
I mounted the motorbike and began to drive through the plains. As I drove, I saw all sorts of wildlife. Large birds, some kind of ostriches and more. I accelerate the bike and move faster, hoping to reach the city before nightfall. And considering how it's pretty far off, I just hoped I had enough fuel to last the journey.
Not only that, but I just hoped I had some time to prepare for the Covenant...
