Seraphina was used to receiving stares wherever she walked. She was a specimen, after all. Standing at a towering 6 foot 3--6 foot 5 in heels--she commanded attention in every room she graced with her presence. In addition to her stature, her status as the current CEO of Mountainview Global (the biggest entertainment conglomerate in the human world) put her in a massive position of power.
Seraphina had just entered Sunset Studios on her day off, wanting to catch a few auditions just for the fun of it. Unfortunately for her, the elevator seemed to be caught at the seventh floor, so she opted to take the stairs. Maybe not the best idea for someone in high heels, but her ankles of steel could handle it.
She opened the door with more force than necessary, causing a bit of unwanted attention to come her way. She groaned internally, stepping into the waiting room and striding over to the audition door for the role of Lloyd. A faint, sweet scent wafted by her nose, but she thought nothing of it. Seraphina picked up on one of the auditioners finishing his lines as she neared the door, waiting for a couple seconds before opening it.
Bridget's gaze snapped towards her, jolting upright when she caught sight of Seraphina at the door.
"Ms. Calliph! How wonderful to see you!" She greeted, hurriedly getting out of her seat to shake Seraphina's hand.
"I apologize for not informing you of my visit. This happens to be a rather spontaneous trip before I continue on to the Crossroads," Seraphina replied. "How many people have yet to go?"
"Three, ma'am." Seraphina nodded.
"I'll ask them if they mind me sitting in. They're in that room with the red door right?" Bridget nodded, and Seraphina took that as her cue to head in.
Peeking her head in, Seraphina looked at the three men huddled up on the bench on the far side of the wall.
"Excuse me?" The three men looked up, their eyes immediately widening. "I wasn't here at the beginning with the other judges, but I'm Seraphina Calliph, the judge's boss. Do you guys mind if I sit in during your auditions?" The men turned towards each other almost robotically, before stammering out noises of approval.
"Great! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys in action." Seraphina gave a polite smile before leaving the room and taking a seat on the windowsill next to Sabrina, who was very visibly rigid. Seraphina debated saying something to her, but elected to stay silent.
The last three applicants performed, though very clearly exaggerating their lines and body language.
Sometimes people have to realize that less is more. Seraphina thought to herself after the last man finished up.
"Alright number 40, you may go. Thank you for waiting so long, by the way." The man nodded, stealing another glance at Seraphina before he scurried off.
"So, did any of the auditioners stick out to you?" Seraphina questioned. The judges flipped through their pages of notes, Sabrina stopping on a couple here and there.
"I particularly liked numbers 14 and 35." This got a very enthusiastic nod from Bridget.
"I agree on number 35. It really felt like he was in the scene with the female lead. He could've used more lower body movement, but he was very expressive with his hands."
"For once, I agree with you guys" Richard cut in. "I think he deserves a callback." The judges nodded, Bridget circling the man's name with a red pen.
"We'll get back to this later." Bridget then turned to Seraphina. "Ms. Calliph, do you need to run, or do you have time to catch up a little in my office?"
