Fire Away
Ghost this is Shadow-1, orbiting the compound now. Standing by for visual."
Exiting the vehicle, they sought cover behind pallets and trucks scattered all around them. "Mark us." Ghost instructed, tossing a laser to Soap. He caught it, activating the light beam and twirling it around in the air, signaling Graves to identify their position.
Hattie was positioned by Alejandro, kneeling behind him as she looked up in the sky for Graves and his shadows. "Hope he doesn't kill us." She muttered. Alejandro looked back at her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry hermosa, he's got our backs. If he doesn't, well we'll make sure he dies a slow, painful death." She chuckled, I knew I liked this guy.
There was a thought swirling around in her mind that she kept hidden. There was something off about Graves, but she didn't know what. He had helped them out this far, so why would he turn on them now? He could've killed them off forever ago, he has the weapons to do so. She couldn't help herself from feeling this way though.
The noise of the plane passing above, drowned out any thoughts of hers.
"Shadow-1, be advised, Hassan is moving in with an armed guard. You cover external, we'll clear the buildings. How copy?" Ghost's voice boomed through the comms.
"0-7, good copy. Armed guard. We'll secure the area so you can move in. Stand by."
Hattie was slowly growing impatient, wanting to forget about Graves and continue their mission by themselves. She wanted to get this over with, not with the help of him and his shadows.
She surveyed the area around the truck providing cover for her and Alejandro. She observed armed personnel near the greenhouse, their voices audible but indecipherable from their current position. She regretted not dedicating more of her focus to her Spanish studies. It would've paid off right about now.
They watched as rounds of bullets came from the plane, obliterating any personnel holding a gun. Witnessing bodies disintegrate upon impact, she eyed some desperately crawling in a futile attempt to escape death, but the rapid blood loss hindered their survival efforts.
Quickly running from their original positions, they made their way to the stables. Ghost commanded Soap to check the right side of the barn, while Hattie went to the left. She watched as some personnel ran out of the building, wasting no time in shooting them as they ran away from their killers. One took cover in front of her, looking to his right completely unaware of the lethal presence right before him. She lunged forward, retrieving a knife from her pocket stabbing his throat. Blood spewed from the ripped hole in his esophagus, sealing his last moments with the grim struggle of choking on his own blood. She flinched back as his crimson substance covered her face and uniform.
She kicked his body over, trying her best to wipe off the blood on her face, which only made it worse. She rendezvoused back with Ghost, Alejandro and Soap, concern in their eyes.
"You all good hermosa?" Alejandro asked, his voice filled with worry.
She nodded, wiping her cheek. "I'm good, the bastard back there ain't"
As they made their way to the greenhouse, they informed Graves that Hassan wasn't in the building. He wasted no time in eliminating the individuals that lingered inside the structure. Hattie ran inside inspecting the now desecrated building, stepping over each one of the lifeless bodies on the ground. "These guys got fucked." Ghost joined in behind her, kicking over a body with his foot. "Dusted 'em."
They left the building, waiting for their next target location. "Hassan should be in the compound, you can give us a way in, right?" Hattie spoke to Graves over the comms, running to another truck to take cover.
