Drip drop, drip drop, drip drop.
The rain danced.
In an alley.
You curled up into a ball.
Alone.
You pulled a trash bag over yourself trying to use it a sheet. The gravel under you dug into your cheek.

Yes, you were living in the streets.
Where was your family? You didn't know. You don't remember their faces, you don't even know the sound of their voices. But you did know that they were once there and they cared. That's how you got your bracelet. It's been there for as long as you could remember.
A tear dropped from your eye.
Soon your eyelids became heavy, despite the rain, you fell asleep.
.
.
.
You turned in your sleep, you felt something warm, soft, and dry under you. You opened your eyes, you were laying on a bed, you could smell cinnamon in the air, you were in different clothe, and you were dry. It wasn't raining and you weren't in an alley.
You sighed dreading it was a dream. So you closed your eyes until a voice spoke to you.
"Awake already, I see." It said. It sounded like it came from a woman. You got up scanned the room, a figure stood not too far from you. It was a woman, at least you thought. She was humanoid, except for her extreme tint of green and the fact that she looked like she was made of a gas. "Do not be frightened, child." She spoke.
"W-who are you?" You concidered asking what she was, but didn't.
"I am a nymph." It was like she was reading your mind.
"Why am I-I here? What do you want?"
"I only found you. I brought you here so you could have shelter, food and all you need to survive. You should be happy." She didn't sound mad, though.
"I am. I am happy. Thank you." You didn't know what to do so you lowered your head.
"Do not worry, child. I shall take you into my arms and care for you as if you were one of my own."
"W-why?" You asked.
"The time will come and you will know. But for now, not worry. You are safe."
You stared at her. She seemed to begin to solidify, her image becoming more visible, the green leaving her skin. Her hair was a beautiful shade of brown. It fell around her shoulders and all the way down to her hips. She also had magnificent blue eyes, almost as warm as a summer day.
She wore a white, sleeveless dress, with a golden, thin braided belt.
She was beautiful herself.
"Thank you." You said.
She walked to you, she took you in her arms and hugged you, "Do you know your name, young one?"
You racked you brain to remember but no luck. "No, I do not."
"It's (Y/n)"
"How do you k-know?" You asked her.
"I just know." Her voice was as soft as her skin.

~~~~some years later (maybe five)~~~~
It's been a few years since mother had taken you in. She wasn't your real mother but it was as if she was. You both lived in a cozy cave. It wasn't bad inside at all. It was actually quite amazing. It had a furnace and more. The only difference was it was only lit by candles. She tought you many things. How to cook, how to sew, you helped her in the gardens, you both went into the small forest not far from the cave and picked berries and herbs. She gave you the education you needed and tought you of the gods. She even tought you how to use weapons. You two became family, she was your mother and you were her daughter. You still had question though, like, where was this cave and what was beyond your home?
You knew the world was full of magical creatures, you had met only a few, satyr and water and forest nymphs.
"(Y/n) it's been a while. Soon they will be coming after you." Your mother spoke.
"Who, mother?" You asked.
"Im sorry." Her eyes became a bit watery, "sorry, that I couldn't protect you."
"What are you tal-"
When the time comes you will kn-" her body stiffened. She looked you in the eyes and screamed, "HIDE!"
You did not know why she was saying that but you did. You saw her grab a knife, she spoke with a satyr. She looked scared and serious. The satyr you grew to know as 'Zack' nodded and came after you. "(Y/n) we got to go!"
"Why?!" You asked him. The ground rumbled, a monster stood before your mother. It growled. A voice erupted from the dog, although it did not belong to it, "where is the girl?"
Your mother's grip tightened on the knife, "you will have to kill me first!" She screamed, "I will not have her die, even if it means my life."
You screamed afraid for your mother.
Zack yanked on your arm and took you away, he pulled you away from the scene. You had tears in your eyes. He ran, holding your arm, through the forest. A cry of pain scattered through the air. "Stop! I need to help her!" You screamed. He didn't let go of you, he just kept running. Zack mumbled a few words. Suddenly you felt dazed, every thing around you went pitch black. You kept running through the darkness untill light beamed in your eyes. You were running through an alley.
The dog barked. It was behind, but not too far. The sky thundered and it began to rain. You flinched because it reminded. . .reminded you of your days. . .years on the streets. It reminded you of the day mother had found you.
Drip drop, drip drop, drip drop.
You blinked the rain drops out of your eyes.
You harshly yanked your arm out of Zack grip. You stopped and turned to the direction of the large dog.
"What are you doing (Y/n)!" He yelled. You ignored him and picked up a long shard of glass from the remainders of an old shattered window. You wrap your fingers around the glass. You could see the large dog getting closer, baring his fangs. You hear a new voice behind you, "What are you doing, idiot?!" You quickly look back. A new boy stood by Zack. He looked surprised and angry, maybe of your stupidity.
He started running towards you and the dog, you saw and began to run. Fortunately you were faster. You and the dog stood less than ten feet apart. It swung it's head towards you and you took the opportunity to lunge on top of its head. It shook it's head in attempt of shaking you off.
"Is she alive?" You screamed.
The dog barked in anger,
"No." The voice roared in your head. You screamed at the top of your lungs. Anger surged through you. She was all you had. . .
