AUTHOR POV
When Adrika entered Abeer's cabin, she was startled to see Mr. Rajawat standing there. Abeer looked furious.
Abeer walked toward her and commanded, "Say sorry to Mr. Rajawat."
Adrika frowned and replied firmly, "Why should I say sorry to him?"
Mr. Rajawat sneered and added, "Look at your employees, Mr. Chauhan. They have no manners when it comes to talking to investors."
Abeer turned to Adrika, his tone cold, "Adrika, apologize to Mr. Rajawat. If you don't, no one will be worse than me."
But Adrika shook her head in defiance.
Mr. Rajawat, visibly annoyed, declared, "This deal cannot proceed, Mr. Chauhan!"
Adrika turned to him, her glare sharp and unwavering. Mr. Rajawat, clearly unsettled, stormed out of the cabin.
As soon as Mr. Rajawat left, Abeer grabbed Adrika by the arm and threw her onto the couch. She gasped in fear, her eyes brimming with tears. She hadn't expected this.
When Abeer noticed the tears streaming down her face, he hesitated. He couldn't recall ever seeing her cry, not even when he had forced her into this marriage. His anger softened as confusion and concern began to take over.
He sat beside her and gently made her sit upright on the couch.
"Why are you crying, Adrika?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically gentle.
Adrika, unable to hold back, burst into sobs.
Watching her cry so openly caused something inside Abeer's chest to tighten. It felt as if someone was clawing at his heart, and he couldn't understand why.
He handed her a glass of water and ordered, "Drink this first, then tell me why you're crying."
Adrika obeyed, but her tears continued to flow. After a while, she calmed down and looked at Abeer with a mix of pain and anger.
"Why did you ask me to apologize to him?" she demanded.
Abeer's brows furrowed as he replied, "He told me you misbehaved with him."
Adrika snapped back, "And you believed him?"
Her sharp response shocked Abeer. He stared at her in silence before muttering, "This deal was very important to me."
Adrika's voice trembled with emotion as she said, "Am I not important to you?"
Abeer froze, her words hitting him like a blow. He didn't know how to respond.
Collecting himself, he asked, "Tell me clearly what happened and why you're reacting this way."
Adrika recounted the entire incident with Mr. Rajawat. Abeer's expression darkened as he listened.
Once she finished, he pulled out his phone, his tone deadly as he gave instructions, "Mr. Rajawat shouldn't leave the building. Stop him. Take him to the basement. I'm coming."
He turned to Adrika and said, "You'll go home with the driver and rest."
Adrika protested, but the dangerous look in Abeer's eyes made her stop. Reluctantly, she left the office.
