Theo's POV:
I hated drugs... Hated them. All kinds. Ever since I was drugged when I was 15... So tell me why I was currently in my office snorting a pain killer? I have no idea. All I knew was that I felt I needed it and I knew that everyone would literally fucking kill me if they found out. I didn't really care though. Ever since Mason told me he loved me, I felt so off kilter and for whatever reason, at 4:45 AM on a random Sunday morning, I had woken up and when I had left to go to work, I swiped the bottle. It started out with popping one here and there because two would knock me out and now it's gotten to snorting it. They helped. I felt more relaxed and less anxious then my anti anxiety medication had me. And no one really had said anything so I think I was covering my tracks well. I was snorting them only once a day. The rest of the ones I took, I would swallow.
I cracked my neck before quickly cleaning up and getting back to work. I had to go down to breakfast soon because Mason had been pissy. I wasn't eating anything but dinner with anyone and that I was hiding in my office all the time. I had barely seen anyone since my break down 8 days ago and I honestly preferred that. I didn't have to lie or pretend that I was okay when I was so far from okay. Even with Mason I could only pretend for so long. Hence why I kept even time with him to a minimum. He wasn't happy that I figured out how to close off our bond either but I was. I know He loves me and I did truly love him back but I also just needed time. I looked up as my door opened. Rolling my eyes when Paisley came in.
"Ever heard of knocking?" I asked, keeping my eyes on my computer.
"Ever heard of breakfast?" She snapped back.
"Let me just finish this order and I'll be done. 5 Minutes tops." I glanced at her, confused she was just staring at my desk. I rolled my eyes. "Is there something else?"
"What's that bottle?"
"Hm?"
I turned and followed her line of sight and paused as I realized I hadn't put the painkillers back in the drawer.
"That bottle. What is it?" She asked again.
"Oh, it's the painkillers Margo had me on. She asked me to put in the order for more and I needed the spelling."
"Hm... Really?"
"Yup." I picked up the bottle and tossed it into the trash can under my desk. There were only papers in it so I would just grab it out in a minute when she was gone.
"Doesn't Margo normally place her own orders?" Paisley crossed her arms.
I snorted. "She's on vacation" I turned back to my computer. "The person she left in charge has problems with technology apparently and couldn't figure out how to order the medications. That, insulin, and Amoxicillin were the only meds she needed stocked. I told her I would take care of it so she could stay with her mate."
"Unhuh... So why is she at breakfast?"
I froze. Margo was actually supposed to be gone for vacation. She was supposed to be going to her friend's pack and shouldn't be due back until next Tuesday.
"Is she?"
Paisley opened the door. "Yeah. Why don't I go ask her about this?"
"CLOSE THE FUCKING DOOR."
Her eyes widened and she did as I said.
"Theo.. What the fuck?"
I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed, my eyes closed. Paisley had moved closer and touched my shoulder.
"The... What's going on?"
I opened my eyes and looked up at her. "Nothing. Mind your own business."
