No, I know...

Mason's POV:

I looked up from where I sat when Tara's phone buzzed. She pulled it up.

"Theo's finally reacting."

"What?"

"He was crying and he's talking. That's good."

"How good is it? He was practically catatonic for 29 hours and just staring at a wall."

Theo's pain filled scream rang through the air followed by a loud metal slamming noise. I closed my eyes before he screamed again.

"IT'S NOT FAIR! LET ME GO. LET ME GO."

Silence.

Another pain filled scream before loud uncontrollable sobs.

"It's okay. Believe it or not but this is a good sign. He's not just shutting down. How are you feeling? You know it's not your fault?"

"No, I know that, I've always known that. I made a mistake. Mainly because I was scared I lost him, that he was going to leave me or blame me. I don't want to die. I shouldn't have done what I did."

"I know. I am glad you feel that way. You can choose me or my colleague but I would like you to speak to someone too. Now... Parker is with him... When and if you feel ready, we can bring you to him. Personally, from what I know of Theo... I am not sure he's going to fully be able to calm down until he sees you are okay. But he's safe and Parker won't let anything happen to him. I think we let him cry and have his breakdown and hopefully he falls asleep. But you know what you are ready for."

I glanced at my Mom who smiled encouragingly at me. "I need to see him... But maybe not have him see me. I'm not sure if he will shut down again or if he will even fall asleep if he sees me."

"There's a window on his door." Tara offered.

Her phone went off again. She looked at it. "Parker thinks we need to sedate him. I should go there because he doesn't know my colleague."

"It's that bad?" I asked.

"He's hurting himself. Unintentionally. Pulling his hair, hitting himself in the head, digging at his arms."

We all stood up and I slowly followed her down the hall, the sounds of Theo crying and thrashing getting louder the closer we got.

"No. No. No. Please.. Please... I'll be good. I'll be good. Please, Dad. Please don't."

Tara disappeared into the room and the door shut.

"No. No. Don't put that on!! NoooAHH"

I steeled my nerves and peaked in the window. Ryan was holding him down while Parker and Margo slipped restraints on him.

"Theo.. Theo.. This is just for your own safety. Once you are calm and stop hurting yourself they will come right off." Tara said as she grabbed the sedative.

Theo's wide panicked eyes landed on the needle. "No, no, no, no, no."

"It won't put you to sleep, this is just to help you calm down. When you are calm we can bring in Mason."

The scared look wiped off his face. "Mason? Mason's okay?"

Tara quickly administered the drug and Theo immediately started trying to get away again.

"Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!"

The entire time we were waiting for the sedative to take effect he fought. Despite his parents trying to keep him calm. Slowly the sedative kicked in and he stopped fighting. His breathing slowed down and he stopped yelling, his crying wasn't nearly as bad, and he allowed them to cover him with a blanket. Tara caught my eye and nodded, giving me permission to come in, if I wanted to.
