Twenty-one

Ju-won had met Beom-seok, and she instantly regretted it. When she was faced to face with him, she felt out of sort. She was still uncomfortable with him. Ju-won only went because she wanted to know if he was actually sorry, and why he was acting the way he was.

"Why did you tell me to come here?" Ju-won asked with no emotion on her face like she didn't want to be there. "Like I said in the text. I really am sorry. I shouldn't of kissed you the other night, and harass you. I didn't know what I was thinking." Ju-won glared and crossed her arms. "Apparently so. Anyway, come on. Su-ho  should be at the party room. You can hand him his gift there. But you should know, he probably won't accept it, and this means I'm not forgiving you."

"First of all." Beom-seok leaned forward, with his elbows on the table. "That apology wasn't real. I wasn't here to apologize."

"What?" Ju-won hummed, and noticed the serious look on Beom-seok's face. Ju-won let out a small chuckle, then she spotted something in the corner that she wish she hadn't seen. Ju-won's face fell when Yeong-bin was sitting at the table with the other boys, and he let out a small wave. Then Ju-won realized, something was definitely wrong.

"What's going on?" Ju-won asked Beom-seok and he let out a vicious laugh.

At the party room, Su-ho was teaching Si-eun some video games, and Young-yi sat and watched. Su-ho grabbed the remote controller from Si-eun, and decided to play since Si-eun was failing. "By the way, is Ju-won crawling back? It's been awhile. What's taking so long for her to come back to her own boyfriends party."

"We can blow out the candles later, let's eat first. I'll try call Ju-won."

"Good idea!" Su-ho and Young-yi grabbed some food. Si-eun grabbed his phone and dialed Ju-won's number. He was confused when her phone was turned off, because it was always on, and she always answered for him.

"Here." Beom-seok grinned. "Lets take a picture for Su-ho." Ju-won couldn't help but let out a scowl when he took a picture, and send it to Su-ho's phone.

"You're making me hate you more right now." Ju-won glared up at Beom-seok, as he made her sit down on a chair, and they ended up at a place she had never been to before. She felt like she was being kidnapped at this point. "Su-ho never answered my calls." Beom-seok announced, putting his phone away. "But.. he says he's coming now after seeing your photo. He must really like you."

"Shut your mouth. Your breath stinks." Ju-won gave him a disgust look, and looked over when she heard a laugh. Yeong-bin stopped, and coughed awkwardly."Hey. I'm dying to know. How did you and Su-ho end up together?" Beom-seok asked.

"What are you barking at?"

"Think about it. Every relationship is a give-and-take. He lets you sleep in his house because your father is abusive. He even is letting you work at his part time job. I'm wondering what you gave him in return."

It had been an hour not, and no sign of Su-ho yet. Is he really coming? Was Beom-seok right that he really didn't care at all? Did Su-ho just feel bad for her that he ended up dating her? Her thoughts were cut off when a figure suddenly appear. Ju-won stood on her feet, and let out a sigh of relief. "Si-eun!" Ju-won wasted no time to run over, and couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck.

"Si-eun!" Yeong-bin exclaimed. "Long time no see."

"Where's Su-ho?" Ju-won asked worriedly, as Si-eun grabbed onto her wrist. "Lets go!" Suddenly, Ju-won was taken back and they had started running.

"Catch them!"

Ju-won ran first down the broken down escalator, as Si-eun quickly followed behind. Her adrenaline was running at this point. Suddenly, one of the guys grabbed onto Si-eun making Ju-won spin around.

"Go!" Si-eun yelled, fighting back. "Run!"

"I'll call the cops!" Ju-won yelled, as she wasted no time to run, and one of the guys followed closely behind her as she did so.

After awhile the cops came, but the boys had disappeared before they had. Ju-won was telling the police the information, when Si-eun called out her name. Ju-won was more than happy he was okay. "Si-eun!" She ran onto the ambulance, and sat down next to him.

"Are you okay?" One of the police asked. "Where are the other students?"

"I was there by myself." Si-eun said, and Ju-won furrowed her eyebrows. Why did he lie about this? Why is he protecting Beom-seok after everything he has done?

"Hey, you can tell the truth."

"I was there alone."

"Yah!" Ju-won leaned forward. "What the hell!"

"Please. Don't speak today's incident with Su-ho."

Ju-won stayed at the hospital with Su-ho. If she had went home, Su-ho would definitely asked her questions, and she didn't want to lie to him. Especially on his birthday. Ju-won did feel bad for him she missed her own boyfriends birthday, but, she wanted the friend group to be okay again, and she wanted to talk things out with Beom-seok.

The next day, Ju-won didn't go to school either. Ju-won stayed at the hospital with Si-eun. Ju-won sat at the edge of his bed, when the two got startled by Si-eun's phone vibrating. They shared looks when it stopped ringing. Suddenly, Ju-won's phone lit up when Su-ho's name appeared as he was calling. Ju-won couldn't take it anymore. She feels bad as it is that she isn't answering him.

Ju-won quickly grabbed her phone, pressed answer, and placed her phone against her ear. "Hello?"

"Why weren't you at home or school today?" Su-ho blurted out.

"I did come home. I came home late.. and I'm not feeling good so I stayed home." Ju-won explained, and ignored Si-eun's stare.

Ju-won eventually had to leave the hospital to go to work. Ju-won was waiting tables, when Su-ho suddenly barged into the restaurant, and stormed over to Ju-won. "I know you're lying to me. Why didn't you come home or to school? You're not suppose to miss anymore school."

Ju-won signed and brushed past Su-ho to continue her work. She wasn't going to argue at her job for everyone to see. Su-ho grabbed onto Ju-won's wrist, and spun her around to face him. "Seriously. When is this Birthday prank going to end? I want it to stop."

"It's not a prank." Ju-won curled her lips together. "I'm working, Su-ho. We can talk later at home." Ju-won walked away, and towards into the kitchen to wash dishes. Ju-won hated lying to him. Si-eun asked her to keep quiet because if Su-ho knew, who knows what will happen.
